This anything like size of the Year by Year book they did? That things huge and heavy. You'd need super powers lift that thing.

I wondered the same (the sarky answer is obviously £5) - looking at the pages the £10 is more in-depth and the title suggests it goes beyond the Avengers characters.

I bought this for £5 from amazon a couple of weeks back. I'm sure the RRP was lower. Unless this is FURTHER updated since then?

Sure it's the same one? There are a few variations that aren't quite as comprehensive. Price tracking shows this dipping to £8 very briefly around April last year.
Any of those cheap book stores have ones like this in stock, they are great to flick though. I have this one and its a great chunky old book. I have another couple, one of which is Marvel comic covers through the years which is a great art book in itself.
