For this you must have a myWaitrose card, free to sign up.
An excellent deal, you must buy anything to get any hot drink free, including mocha. The cheapest item of food is a banana for 25p (same price as buying it in-store). I always choose largest for maximum value. Alternatively, you can upgrade your drink to large, and paying for the upgrade counts as "buying something". It's 30p to do this. Alternatively, if you like syrup, you can pay 50p for a syrup, to make the drink free. You get quality cups and saucers, some cafes have fresh flowers and outdoor seats and newspapers.
This is for people who are lucky enough to be able to get to Waitrose stores with cafes (you have to check individual branches on website and look for "coffee shop" in facilities, NOT "coffee stop" as that is a machine which all have).
Or tea, I think

currently sitting in their cafe with a coffee having bought camomile and honey tea bags one pound got the coffee free. I actually thought it was for a free take away coffee not to sit down but I do sit down.

Can you upgrade to hot chocolate?

The cafes hand make a latte. You have to buy something at cafe to get that, we usually get the little biscuit people that are 30p each or 3 for 2.

Can't comment about the cafe coffee but the "free" one is disgusting, and I won't even strt about the tea!

you can only get a free drink with no card if you take your own cup or buy a waitrose one for £3 and do your own at the machine - bit naughty though

ive been doing this every day for years as it right near where i work and live...some cafes say u need to buy ours doesn't matter it's usually a 20/30p upgrade depending on whether itsa an americano/latte/cappuccino...the queue is a **** though you need to have patience...it seems, however, that there are many unhappy campers at Waitrose... some of these are classic!

Very upset with fish counter at East Croydon Waitrose - I did not realise the fresh fish counter sold fish whole without cleaning, gutting or descaling fish. The assistant did not at any time mention it or point out that it needed gutting. Normally I shop at Sainsbury's where it is ready gutted and cleaned. I suppose I should have checked but it would have been helpful if he mentioned it at least. How many people normally gut their own fish nowadays? Very upset with customer service. I had to throw a perfectly good fish away - no way to descale the fish as I don't have the right knife or remove the innards.

The customer service in the new Hawkhurst branch is terrible! I usually shop in the Paddock Wood and Tenterden branches and have always had friendly, helpful staff. After my fifth visit to Hawkurst, I will never return even though it's much closer to where I live. The staff in hawkhurst are never friendly and begrudge helping..

I am annoyed that Waitrose suddenly seem to have decided not to stock Alpro lemon and lime soya yoghurt and do not have a substitute for it. They have vanilla (horrible) almond (horrible) coconut and blueberry but lemon and lime is nice and sharp. I went out of my way to buy it at Waitrose and did other shopping too so now I wont be going there at all.

The level of service at Waitrose Sanderstead has reached a new low. Just before Christmas I went in and bought a beef joint and wanted some stuffing for a turkey. The fist assistant I spoke to pointed in the general direction of the front corner, another assistant narrowed it down a bit by informing me that it was in aisles 1 or 2, a third told me that the fresh stuffing was at the rear of aisle 1, the packet stuffing half way down aisle 2. Despite all 3 assistants doing very little at the time of asking, not 1 of them offered to take me to the product I wanted to buy. Eventually, another shopper helped me find the small selection of stuffing, all basic sage and onion. To add insult to injury, when I went to the checkout the till person (who looked about 12), walked away from the till as soon as I put my purchasers on the moving conveyor belt, without a word. On numerous occasions I have waited ages in a queue as there was only 1 person on the basket checkout, despite other employees wandering around chatting to their co workers. When are Waitrose going to realise that more and more of their customers are going elsewhere, where service is better and prices lower. I am one of them.

We bought a Heston banana and bacon trifle which retailed at £12.99, an unreasonable amount for what you are getting.Upon opening it, over half the depth of the trifle was cream. T
To our disappointment, there was no real banana, only a puree. The base was just 1 cm thick. It tasted awful- very sweet and sickly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
However what I would recommend is to buy a waitrose own brand raspberry or strawberry trifle, which tastes great.

I placed my organic turkey order as soon as Waitrose started taking them. I went in on Christmas eve to collect and was told they didn't have any. Initially a problem with my order copied incorrectly (computer fault according to staff) and then told there were no organic turkeys. To this, I asked if other customers had been contacted, but was then told it was only My turkey that wasn't available. The flippant attitude of the staff, including a manager was a joke:not even an apology. I've had problems with bad customer service in Newcastle before and now have decided I will no longer shop there as they simply don't care. Do they realize that the customers keep the shop open?? The packaging on the organic pigs in blankets was so swollen I would have been scared to eat them.

We placed a delivery slot weeks ago for a Christmas delivery £250 and they substituted 12 items because they were out of stock, some items were Christmas lunch items, and no xmas pudding because they had run out. Unbelievable, then when I phoned the store I was spoken to in a condescending manner by a staff member who was obviously stressed. What a shambles, this is the second time they have done this to us at xmas, they have forgotten who the customer is.

Wrote comment below on Facebook page after you ignored my Farhers letter, still not response from Facebook either:
Back home visiting my parents for some pre Christmas celebrations. My dad informed me, he found a screw in a Waitrose Italian spinach cannelloni meal. He sent the screw along with a letter to your customer service dept 23/11/2016 by recorded delivery. Completely astounded that you haven't yet even acknowledged my fathers letter. Is it that much of a common occurrence to find screws in your food that you don't respond??? #waitrose #HomeForChristmas please contact my Dad ASAP!

I recieved a christmas mailing regarding offers in waitrose stores , today's offer was half price sirloin beef joint anyway I was in Cardiff store yesterday to ask if the offer was going ahead today and was advised by the butcher it was indeed! I was at the store at 8.10 today and was advised at no delivery had arrived and the butcher apologised to me . I took myself off to the customer service desk to complain . Before leaving I asked for the stores number so I could call them later to see if the delivery of beef had materialised . rang them at 12 noon only to be advised that it had come in and sold out . I was then informed that someone bought it in a bulk but Whilst speaking to my friend later today she informed me that she was in ththe store at 9am ! 45 mins after me I might add and she was told that they had sold out . so the long and short of this is either the staff had the majority of the delivery or it never arrived in the first place and instead of being truthful that they could not fulfill their orders/offers they have lied ! Shame on you waitrose !!!! Very bad practice!
