I'm half Bajan so over there alot. I'm lucky have a place there. The Crane is a great hotel and beach, Mango Bay and yellow bird too. Here is a tip.... The 2p coin is same weight/size as the Bajan dollar. So will work in vending machines and pool tables.....
Check out Oistins, Jolly Roger, Boatyard and Mount Gay Tour... And Crane beach!

so I'm not allowed to have an opinion eh?
most Caribbean islands are filled with loudmouth yanks. Cuba is the only one that isn't.
Jamaica has a very high crime rate. Barbados does a bit. Cuba has none. I didn't like Jamaica and I wasn't crazy about Barbados either. Conversely, nobody ever tried to scam me in Cuba.
The guy asked Cuba or Barbados, I gave my opinion. I dont particularly care what you think of my opinion.

Cuba. Been to Jamaica/Barbados/Turks & Caicos once, but been to Cuba three times. Just don't go to Havana, unless you like crumbling buildings and slums. Varadero or Holguin are excellent. Food excellent. People friendly. Pretty much zero crime. Can't say same for Barbados/Jamaica/Turks ...[/quote
"Can't say the same..." Hmmmmnnnnn, So you met 'everyone' on the above mentioned islands to make such a statement, did u (unfriendly)?
I could easily say the same about UK but I've not met everyone to make such a rash statement.
I've been several times to Barbados, twice to JA and yet to see Cuba, T&C not on my to-do-list btw.
The majority of folk I came across in Barbados and JA (both hotel staff, shops/banks etc and everyday folk walking along the roads) were very polite AND friendly.
Try saying Morning/Afternoon to a stranger over here and notice the odd looks you'll get.... And to think, the Bristish colony are the ones to have supposedly taught the wild & savage West Indians Christianity & good manners.. Smh

If you mean like cayo coco, then it doesn't really matter as they are both very similar and the food is probably better in Barbados. If you actually want to visit a country and not eat burgers and pizza, are interested in history and culture etc then I'd recommend cuba

a few airbnb options fro £50-100 a night.

Never heard of that to be honest. The last thing I would be thinking is carrying around British 2ps and my Bajan money.
unless your in a mall that's when you will find a fending machine.
plus Google what a bajan $1 dollar looks like...it looks like a smaller 50p not a 2p coin.

Just checked a random selection of hotels - and it's coming up £4K-£15K for hotels for 2 weeks.
So in theory, if you book the full package for less than £4K it's cheaper than the separates.
Otherwise, can go for a very very basic apartment for £1K-£2K. For a bargain holiday in Barbados.

good deal - went similar price for flights in December 2015 and stayed by Dover Beach. Cant recall the hotel name - but next to Sandals. Food is VERY expensive - but offset by the cheap flights. Friendly people, fantastic place - would go back in a flash.
Make sure you check out Mr Q's - cracking little pool club just behind Sandals hotel - run by a guy called Saj from Birmingham originally - cheap bear, good place to hang out for a few bears, and games of pool.
Local transport is easy - just jump on one of the buses and off you go for peanuts. Bridgetown very nice too.

Depends on your budget sandy lane is the posh one but a grand pp per night.
I've stopped at infinity on the beach a few times it's on the beach (Dover beach which is a great beach lots of local snack huts and restaurants and bars nearby, the rooms and bathrooms all had a major overhaul in October and are very good, unfortunately prices seem to have doubled since the year before
If you want all inclusive then many of these hotels are on their own with little nearby , st Lawrence gap is a busier area on the south coast lots of options or somewhere near hometown would be good also
