Great thanks. Can any recommend rechargeable batts for it now? Need AA and AAA.
Eneloop seem to be the best in terms of price/quality?

I use Amazon 'basics' they're not the cheapest but are half decent, lots of reviews also state they are the same as Eneloop.

Up to 10 times spec states, I found after 4-5 re-charges they don't hold significant charge. But yes you can charge Alkalines unless they have changed the charger since I had it.
Can confirm it is a great piece of kit. Had one for a couple of years. Display shows if you have a duff cell.

wondering what the economy is like to get this and 16 eneloops vs sticking to napkin long life AA 100 packs. Anyone have experience or want to do the maths? Use 40-80 a year I guess...

Will charge single cells, was fine with my eneloops, Duracell and 7dayshop. I also used it for charging single use alkaline which my current vapex does not and I do miss.

I had this charger, worked well but died after a couple of years. For the money couldn't complain though.

Edit, this is the one I had https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lloytron-Alkaline-Intelligent-Battery-Charger/dp/B004KZKWO0 which does Alkalines it seems it was a different model.
