True. Amazon popped a 2.5" HDD case up for £4 recently and at that price, I bought 3 to house my old laptop HDDs safely. What a waste of time. Badly manufactured. USB port didn't even let a USB plug fit into it. Cheap is as cheap does to paraphrase the venerable Gump.

But is it the hardware or the drivers?
Because while the description doesn't say, one of the photos is of the driver disc and it mentions RTL8811AU and at I've found Realtek's Win10 drivers to be very poor.
Had a TP-LINK USB N adapter using RTL8192CU and it would never connected after Windows 10 resumed from sleep. Tried a bunch of recent drivers from TP-LINK and Realtek without luck until I eventually forced a Win8.1 driver from 2013 which has worked for ages now. All of the more recent ones had the same resume bug though.
Only one of the cheaper TP-Link adapters but I don't think price has much to do with it. The most expensive Wifi adapter I ever bought was this LinkSys/Cisco for £25 or so (for 54Mbs 'G') and it had the worst drivers: resource usage-heavy and unreliable.

I wont use USB wifi dongles any more as they've always been unreliable, but heat at this price.
May be others have more luck than me.

I use USB dongles to do professional Wifi site surveys. Never had a problem.

We used to use them in remote kiosks running sitekiosk and siteremote and the reports from them were a joke. Up down up down up down... we now use internal mini pci and not looked back.

Well I suppose it helps if you use decent ones. The ones I use cost upwards of £60-70 at the very least. These cheap Chinese and Taiwanese cards are terrible, I'll agree.
