Use code oled10 - also valid on all other LG OLED models.

5 year warranty.
Excellent retailer.
12month Sky Q offer.

Low latency HDR game mode firmware now available for the B6 models yielding sub 30ms.

I think this is about the best ever price at a reputable retailer and without having to rely on cashback or trying to get price matches. 1% Quidco or 1.15% TCB is available.

UPDATE - available by phone only now, code withdrawn (thanks @onzey). Further £50 reduction on the 55 B6 which should make it £1574 though.

Heat for the best price. But if you have been waiting for LG 2016 OLED range to drop significantly in price, I'd personally wait a few more months. (Yes I understand with technology it's the old chestnut that it will always drop in price). CES 2017 occurred the other week and the 2017 range will release from April this year. So companies will be releasing their old range and like last year the price will drop significantly. If you can't hold off until then, fair play and enjoy the tv now. Personally after the LG OLED 65 E series. Tempted with the sky Q offer but still overall to expensive.

I don't have this tv, i have a sony 4k and got rid of an over grainy picture by turning down sharpness/ resolution as its trying to add detail not there. Hd and 4k are sharp without it. Turn off noise filtering too or set to low if you can't.

Hope this helps

Is the grain on all sources and material? A lot of marvel stuff from Netflix has been shot with a lot of added grain for some reason and detracts from picture quality in imho.

The marvel stuff has added grain to give it the effect of the paper comic books were printed on.

After doing research I'm waiting for a 4K TV that I can do 100% of the HDR10 colour standard dci-p3. Watched some HDR finally and contrast was less noticeable to me than colour in a bright room. OLED beats everything else right now, but reckon Samsung QLED will offer the same colour and more brightness for less cash this year.

Tempting but looking to wait on these models (B6/C6). Sky Q deal runs until 28/03/17 I believe with new OLED 7 range rumoured to launch in the Spring. Hopeful the price will drop to £1500 or below.

Is it the full sky package? Sports + Movies?
bma1445 to dmce
16 Jan 17 1 #10
No the basic package, with no 4K either last time I checked!

Plus you have to pay installation, and it doesn't apply if you've already got q (a discount would've been nice!).

I love the panel on the e series, but god the sound bar is ugly. Surely they realise that anybody spending that much on a tv will have a proper sound system!

I wonder if JL will price match?
DrewBee to dmce

I believe it is the Sky Q Original Bundle + multiscreen subscription. You appear to get the Sky Q box and router with all orders but not everyone has received an additional mini box for free. £60 quid set-up fee but some have got this waived.

There seems to be a discrepancy between the deals new Sky customers and existing Sky HD customers receive. It is all very confusing.
bma1445
16 Jan 17 #12
You're right, it isn't very clear at all! I called them about it when I was close to buying one last month, to see whether my sister could use it (she has sky plus with multi room), they told me:

- it's for the regular sky q box only, not the silver, but since she had sky multi room already and has been with them a long time, if she paid the extra £12 for multi room they'd install a silver box instead (something about reduced installation cost for multi room and the usual loyal customer crap), even though the offer states that multiroom is included!

- it's the box sets bundle, but they could carry over whatever promo she had for the movies (she doesn't have sports), so for her movies would've been £8 a month extra, because that's what it was on her current deal

- to add anything she didn't already have (like sports) would've been full price

So basically, it's an it like the haggle at the end of your contract - depends on who you get.

When I called them about using it myself, they said that since I already have sky q, I wasn't eligible for the offer (it's buried in the small print), and "suggested" that unofficially a family member could use it instead lol.

So if you're new to sky, it's the standard box sets and regular box - although you may be able to haggle the silver box if you stump up for multi room given the reason for it was "reduced installation". IMO multiroom without silver is pointless. I got the impression it's just a promo to get you in then upsell.

Code oled10 not valid online now but saw a tweet today from C&M offering 10% off LG OLEDs via telephone.

@bma1445

My understanding is JL won't price match unless code is advertised on the competitors website i.e is available to the general public.

I claimed the Sky Q offer recently as a new customer and have the Original bundle, Sky Q Multiscreen pack, the 2TB box and a mini box.

Thats very odd on the link i posted it was .35 thanks for that how come my tv hasn't manually downloaded it, maybe the rollout is slow.

For the others who suggested help on the grainy picture thanks, i think sharpness is 0 and i did turn on noise filters but will go in and check again to be sure as i dont remember it being like that when i first had the TV.

Sharpness was on 10 and mpeg noise was on low and the other was low aswell. It turns out that my TV had updated to the latest version without my knowledge thats why it never picked up the update. How do you enable HDR game mode as i have a PS4 Pro.

BTW best TV for the money by miles better than anything Samsung has to offer and i know i had the KS7000 before and it was rubbish, very narrow viewing angles and the issue with the back coming away within 2 weeks i saw the B6 next to the KS9000 in RS and it was a no brainer the 9000 was bad when you moved slightly off centre all the colour washed out. They had a £1500 sony the other side and that couldnt touch the B6 either when you have a OLED you wont believe the colours and the blacks no other TV comes close.
polly69
16 Jan 17 #22
I thought i was right about no HDR game mode update .mines on .65 it was to stop the issue with HDCP and PS4 Pro i had the issues if it was enabled no picture now it works and i can select RGB and HDCP. Has anyone tried applying the U.S update ive seen it asked on many forums with no answer, the thoughts are that if it installs its fine if not its not compatible id be interested to hear.

The 2015 models have banding issues and it's only 1080p, plus I don't think it has hdr support in any form.

As the US models use different tuners, if it will load it may cause issue. It should be released to European models soon based on previous release time scales. Personally I am waiting for the next update for HLG as I'm not a gamer.

Every Tv I have had always turn the sharpness to off as it just as you say it adds to something thats not there and adjust contrast and brightness without losing detail.
It mystifies me that some will sit in traffic for 1 or 2hours or more in a car costing them 10's of thousand pounds then the quibble over 2 to 3K over a Tv they sit in front for hours a day.

The Sky install is £60.

In case it's of interest, I happened to phone Sky today and I can upgrade to Box Set package for £18 a month which gives access to HD and UHD stuff which you don't get with the Original bundle. Probably what Sky are hoping people will be tempted to do, having bought an LG OLED.

I would love this TV but do worry about the input lag, even after the firmware update coming soon it will be 34ms, that's not far off double the cheaper (non-oled) Samsungs..

Dont know if I'm too picky. New 2017 sets also released towards end of Q1 and Q2.
Adexus to delusion
17 Jan 17 1 #38
The B6 will be 28ms after the firmware update which is only 6-7 ms higher than the Samsung KS series which I have and I'm looking at this set... the E6 is 34ms though.
telcoengr
17 Jan 17 #39
I completely agree - I bought E6 series just before christmas from John Lewis for £3999 and it has already dropped to £3699 in last 20 odd days. Mine is going back as I think prices will drop significantly. E6 is best of all, I love it but it is hard to digest the price I paid for it. I have already got SkyQ but please be aware that if you have Sky Broadband & Talk services at home then you will not be treated as new SkyQ TV customer. Sky doesn't differentiate its broadband and TV customers. I found it very hard to get the promotion in place as LG seems to be advertising it incorrectly. In simple words SkyQ deal is just for new Sky customers. Also you have to pay £60 for installation to Sky. Sky usually provide 1TB box which doesn't support 4K content so you again have to request for 2TB for 4K media content. It comes with Orginal Bundle which only have 8 HD Channels and no 4K content so add another £20-25 pm if you want more HD Channels (excluding Sky Sports, BT Sports, Sky Movies etc). SkyQ full channel bundle will still cost you over £100 pm which is still very expensive in my opinion

I tried when price was £1619 but had a hard time with them and although they utlimately agreed to match they would not beat (their promise to beat as advertised in this case would have reduced by a further £20). Are you really that sensitive to flicker, unless you're winding me up?! Just looked and even the cheap Tvs seem to refresh at 200hz if you want them to. The feature on my TV is called clear motion and looks no different in terms of flicker just blur and brightness.

I don't really care that much about input lag as I use v-sync on games, and that's about 100ms of input lag on it's own.
drokkster
20 Jan 17 #56
I know the deal has expired now but as someone who owns the LG 55B6 it has known issues with the internal speaker. When sound is set to 1 volume or above you can hear hiss from the speakers quite noticeable. You have to put volume up to at least 12 to drown out the hiss noise. If you have the audio going through a soundbar however it is a non-issue. (whether your willing to accept this fault on a £1500 to £1700 TV is up to you!)

I am going to upgrade to the E6 because of this issue.

Whether it affects ALL B6's I dont know, although there are multiple reports of this issue from B6's owners on AVforums.

No, for a while after they revoked the oled10 code, they lowered the price on the C&M site to £1749 - they were then doing 10% of THAT price over the phone.

I seem to have a grainy image on dark areas, i don't recall this when i bought the TV i hope its not faulty the issue is with so many different inputs and quality of TV channels and downloads theres no way to be sure whats causing it, it may even be my amp because everything is routed through my amp. Im not sure how my amp should be configured, i have a Onkyo 636 and at the minute i have it set to through mode as i have a Projector. Im also unsure on the TV what picture size should be chosen is it original 16 by 9 should just scan be on. Id love to know the cause of the grain, its not present on day time scenes just dark or night time and not always. I was going to have it calibrated professionally but the worry that there's something wrong and spending £300 on a faulty TV would be throwing your money down the drain. If anyone has had theirs done or has a great picture could they please post their settings it would be a great help to me to test the TV and i know they are all different but it would be a good starting point.
Adexus to polly69
22 Jan 17 #66
Is it like film grain or is it more blocky? If it's blocky then it'll just be the source that you're feeding it, low bit rate sources do tend to do that.
