Found this deal for the LG 9kg 1400rpm at new year and had delivered yesterday. Went for 9kg over 8 as we couldn't fit our kingsize duvet in our last 8kg without overcrowding (not spinning properly) but fits ok in 9kg machine.
We got this price matched by JL but the 5 year guarantee is LG's own not JL so up to you which to try.
Delivery charges vary as I think local postcodes to sonicdirect (Bradford) are free but even down to London was only £15!
Machine is amazingly quiet, washes well and uses about 1/3 less electricity than the 8kg Samsung from JL which is currently getting quite warm.

heat, on those EU measurements alone it seems better in every respect compared to the Samsung.
One of the promotional tiles on JL shows a 10 year warranty on LG that have this Inverter technology
a) is the 10 year warranty only on that particular Inverter part or the whole machine
b)which LG machines have that tech, this one?

Most probably just be a parts warranty, You'll still have call out charge and labor which in most cases would cost loads more than the motor.

Thank you OP! Was about to order the Samsung washing machine. But luckily saw the comment linking to this deal! Price matched with JL, order in process. Sonic direct were asking for £60 installation fee and £19.99 disposal as well as a further £14.99 for delivery!
JL will do installation for £25, disposal for £9 and delivery is free!
But will have to wait a week for delivery. That doesn't matter at all!
Hot deal for sure!

Very tempted to get this, and I've had confirmation from JL that they will price match, but when I mentioned to my wife that it has a 1400 spin speed she wasn't happy, she said that is not enough to get all items dry. Anyone any thoughts on this?.

10 Jan 17#33
Our last machine was a 1600 9kg hotpoint and yes there is a slightly noticeable difference in dampness after a spin. Jeans have taken an extra couple of hours to dry on an airer than normal but nothing terrible. There's some interseting articles you can find on Google if you search noticeable difference between spin speeds. This one helped me http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/washing-machine-spin-speed-efficiency/

Wash cycles from 14 minutes up to nearly 3 hours. You can select different quick washes 15,30 and 60 mins. A full wash seems to be around an hour and 40 for a full cotton load at 40c and 1400 spin.

The free 5 year guarantee is from LG and part of a current promotion I was told that applies to certain machines purchased/registered by may 2017. You can always contact JL to confirm or purchase through sonicdirect as it is shown on the website.

If you go to the LG website there is a page listing all the machines that qualify for the 5 year guarantee. This model number is shown (last one on list) BUT it describes it as a 10kg machine, so I'm now very confused as the JL site no longer mentions the 5 year guarantee:
Anyone else thought about this? Haven't found many reviews on the LG

Hello Washing machine hunters
I too have been in contact with JL re the warranty and I am awaiting there reply, I did specifically ask about the LG and the 5 year warranty but also mention the samsung as another I was looking at and the JL worker just glazed over my question and concentrated her response on the Samsung that is hot on here which apparently does come with a 5 year warranty.

I got this response which I've followed up enquiring on the advertisement of 5 year warranty;
"Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, we do not match warranties so we are unable to match the 5 year warranty offered. Please be aware that this works in both a positive and negative manner, so we do not fluctuate from our own warranty.
I am sorry if this is not the outcome you were hoping for, if you require anymore information please don't hesitate to contact me."
Got a reply from JL to my query about the LG 5 year warranty. They just say there is no longer this offer of extended warranty on this model. As it was the peace of mind of a 5 year warranty that tempted me to this I think I'm not willing to risk it :
Thank you for your email regrading the LG LGFH4U2VFN3.
I understand that this model had an offer for a free 5 years labour and parts warranty.
Having viewed this item on our website I can confirm that this offer has ended and only a 2 year guarantee is offered now.

Has anyone had any problems with the washing machine? I just put a load on, used the download cycle, 20 mins at 1400 spin and kabam! It started leaking and when I opened door, the rubber ring was messed up and the metal ring which probably was underneath the rubber ring was hanging off! The load consisted of only towels, t shirts, pj bottoms and some socks! It was less than 5kg in total.
I will ring up LG tomorrow morning, 9am on the dot! I thought it would be a good idea to find out if anyone else had any similar problems? Thanks in advance!

31 Mar 17#81
I have contacted crappy LG and they have decided it was accidental damage. Claiming a sock was trapped through the rubber gasket and forcing the clamp ring to become dislodged, messing up the rubber. They are truly disgusting. The machine was half full at best and this was a mechanical fault but they are denying that. I am now liable for the repair!
Anyone on here had anything similar?? Please respond!
ruheluddin86
4 Apr 17#82
Accidental damage - are they blaming you for the damage? Did you buy this from John Lewis?
snazzyb
5 Apr 17#83
Yes they did blame me. Luckily I had bought a domestic and general service plan, so they covered it. But really annoyed! I think it happened because of the weird rubber gasket which sticks out quite a lot. I've never had this happen before and I've been liable to shoving a few extra clothes into drum!
I did buy it from John Lewis but they said it's still under manufacturers warranty.
