Been confirmed that this model is getting an update to enable HLG also

Purchased this TV last week from Richer Sounds at £649 - very impressed so far. Looked at the KS7000 in John Lewis and it was better on the HDR and HD demos but in SD the KS7000 looked awful and cost an extra £200! Overall the family watches more SD than HD so LG won hands down. In a few years time when HDR is around a bit more then we'll change again.

I'll go with that. I still believe for the price this is the best tv. Yes you could have a Sony 8077 but that's only 50hz. Yes you could spend more and get a Samsung 7000 but it's more and I think all Samsung look juddery. I've got a flagship 2013 Panasonic in the living room and it has a better day to day picture. I'll wait for oled to become cheaper and better before I replace that.

I believe saying 10-bit when it's 8+2 is perfectly legit. Also, it simply WON'T be true 10-bit at this price, it just won't. There are tech specs you can delve in to here which tell you as much, panel identifiers and the like. Besides, there's a few specs on LG's site that ARE wrong for other TV's that I've noticed. The 635V for example says it's IPS on their site, but that's incorrect, it's a VA panel... I know because I have one and it's clearly VA. And again, a panel identifier code tells you this which I've seen discussed on the AV Forums website.

Like I said. Don't believe everything you read on panel spec websites.

Check lg website. They specifically claim this is a 10 bit panel. I'm no marketing law expert but they'd pushing their luck if it isn't. They don't make the same claim about screens lower in the range that are 8+2

Dolby Vision Specs state it has to process 10 bit, not display.. also Dolby Vision is gogin to be the BETAMAX of the HDR Game, with PS4 Pro & XB1s not supporting it, HDR-10 is where its going to be.

Just to add its the 49" models up of the KS7000 the 43" is an 8+2 panel.

Good price for sure, but i think i will wait for something better.

No its 10 bit according to lg. panel spec websites are often inaccurate. Has to be 10 bit to meet Dolby vision certification too

whats the difference between this and the slightly more expensive 49uh850v

Can you give me the dimensions of the feet on this stand please? Trying to work out whether it would fit on my current TV stand...

Also, anyone any recommendations of the 850v panel over this? One review I read said the 850v is slightly better than the 770v... just trying to work out if it's worth the extra £50...

The local dimming. It's quite a cheap tv so there has to be some compromise. In dark scenes viewed in a dark room you'll see bands of white light. U can turn off the local dimming if it really bothers you to rectify this but the local dimming helps with black reproduction. During hdr playback you kind of have to have local dimming turned on but the problem doesn't show much during hdr viewing. Otherwise the o/s is awsome as is the picture.

It seemed to rise in price in December and has only just dropped back to £650 with jl the cheapest. Luckily with my price match I'm only down £20. I'm past the 28 days so can't get them to refund any more.
This tv isn't perfect and I'd spend more money for my living room. But I've got it in my bedroom. Dolby vision is awsome. Watching daredevil on Netflix as we speak.
