Thanks OP! Is it likely to be an offer that appears in the app? Nothing worse than the embarrassment of trying to get a deal/freebie and having to argue with the cashier over it!

What's the problem? If they are going through the drive thru and buying a meal as well, what's wrong asking for the free hot drink?

28 Jan 17#14
It does actually say that it is for their Colonel Club members, which they are, so do you think that they are actually going to turn around and say that they don't want the free drink and would prefer to pay for it instead?

Download the app, sign up for the colonels club (quick and easy, use a random email with fake details etc they never check), then login and you're sorted. What the OP goonertillidie has forgot to mention is that new sign ups also get 3 stamps free hotukdeals.com/fre…036 (a free side (no minimum spend required, just show the offer on the app to the cashier) - choose from 2 hot wings, small popcorn, strawberry sundae, toffee sundae, gravy, beans, coleslaw, fries, cobette, tango, 7up, pepsi, pepsi diet, pepsi max, water, or another hot drink/coffee on top of the free one you get in this deal)

Voted HOT, but the taste of the Coffee's are similar to the vending machines you get for free. Not knocking a freebie but it ain't worth £1.49 or £1.99 with a cookie.

You don't need to spend anything for the Waitrose coffee (unless you sit in their cafe) Even then, they have bananas for 25p, mini shortbread for 50p etc
The coffee in KFC is definitely better than before - Seattle's Best is Starbucks cheap sub-brand IIRC.

There are plenty of people living on the streets. They would appreciate a hot drink this winter. If you aren't thirsty then please pass on these free KFC and Waitrose drinks to those in need. Whenever I have done this they are so very grateful. It only takes a few minutes out of your day. Cheers OP for the KFC tip.

Had a mocha and it was pretty rough. Just warm, not hot, and way way too sweet. Do they all use those instant looking machines? Will try their late next time. It's free, so can't complain, but nothing like cafe nero free coffee, or waitrose (my favourite so far).

The manager at the Kendal branch said "It is out of date"???? And also you need to buy something because "you can't just come in and get a free coffee" - someone tell me where it says no purchase necessary for this deal - KFC staff where very rude to me :disappointed:

I would complain. It does not say you need to purchase anything. I would complain to head office. In the first instance I would complain to the manager though and see if they sort it.
DreamerV
31 Jan 17#72
This isn't true. My other half struggled to use this offer but went to another KFC where they knew how to put it through. Something about having to hit a button that says colonel's club on their till first, then ring up the item, then press another button that the first place may not have pressed. I reckon this is an 'inadequate training' issue. Also they seem to not be big on customer service, as some people have reported rudeness and I've seen this myself.
Edited to clarify: I'm not saying what you said isn't true, but rather, what they told you isn't true.
DreamerV
31 Jan 17#73

I have no offers showing at all in my app - wonder why?
ac10372
31 Jan 17#78
Yes - Seems that they are not eager to give anything away as most of these beaches are franchises who don't like to give stuff away for no profit even though they will be payed back for the materials they used by KFC
carolphillips999
31 Jan 17#79
This is what it says on website To use this offer simply scan your card or app at the counter and tell our cashier that you would like a 'Free regular coffee' added to your order.

Do they put chicken bits in the coffee? As a vegan crossfitter I would like my free drink without animal products.

DreamerV
31 Jan 17#82
The order doesn't have to have anything on it, it can just consist of the free regular hot drink. It is a poorly worded offer by KFC and could do with clarity from them. They say to ask for a free regular coffee, yet the terms say you can get any drink (bar some). If I wanted a tea, and asked for a free regular coffee, that just wouldn't make sense. Hopefully they will word their offers better in the future so we can clearly understand what they are offering.

Yes free coffee daily. There was a free side, including coffee, that was one use if you recently signed up on the app, but this offer is a free regular coffee daily.

Complain. Their social media accounts may be your best bet. I absolutely hate it when staff think they can question the validity of vouchers/offers that have been set up by the company on a national level.

it happened to me.this morning, cashier kept insisting to redeem my stamps and off course she knows what she's talking about. after few minutes of arguing asked to call supervisor who surprisingly wasn't aware of it either but thankfully knew where to check, so... next time cashier doesn't know, tell them to add coffee to till then goto promotions/special offers where they ll b able to find it. plus it all over the screens on their tills :stuck_out_tongue:

If it helps anyone...asked for "Free regular coffee" yesterday and got it without any hassle. Today I asked for the same and the cashier asked if I wanted to use the stamps. I said no, use the free coffee offer, and that worked ok. You get to choose your drink anyway, but I guess quoting the magic phrase means it'll come off that offer and not your free side. By the way...I'm a regular Caffe Nero customer so was a bit apprehensive about KFC coffee (being snobish here  ) but actually I was pleasantly surprised. Not brilliant but not too bad. Tastes better when it's free, of course!

I've used this offer a few times this week, it can be either quick and easy or a bit difficult depending on the staff. Some realise how to do it straight away, others try and tell you that you need to buy something, or have to ask someone else how to do it. I don't think that I'm gonna use it again due to the hassle of having to explain it to the staff that don't seem to have been notified about the offer.

I had my free coffee yesterday... Never again! I couldn't drink more than a couple of mouthfuls.. It was, by far, the worst coffee I have ever had - and I used to work in the buffets on the trains!

8 Feb 17#96
You don't have to buy anything in Wimbledon, you just stroll up to the machine, get your coffee and leave. 99% of people don't even bother to scan their card at the till either. The one a bit closer to my house however, you have to go and actually ask for a cup, but If you do it at the customer service desk then you don't need to have purchased anything even if technically speaking you should have

Went 4 days ago, got free coffee by showing them kfc free coffee offer. Then 2 days ago scanned the app but the lad said it says cannot give me free coffee as is been used. Then last night I went to different kfc branch asked free coffee while showing them the free coffee offer on phone, girl replied "sorry coffee machine not working" while I see people sitting there drinking hot drinks! Scandalous KFC do not abide their own offers!
Opening post
