Its very common mate, I've seen hundreds of threads on auto forums saying the same thing, people using it normally and the the smallest defect in the clear coat can make it an easy target for pressure washers.. there is even a thread with a Porsche 911 bonnet being ruined by it..
I tried to advise people on here are a precaution to it, and i get hammered with arrogant comments about washing cars with sponges etc.. people clearly taking everything so literal.. TBH i couldn't care less if they strip their clear coat or not.

Bit of a daft question, but can you adjust the pressure to a relatively low one if you were using it to clean something a little more delicate?

Just spoke to a nice lady at Wilko Customer service, she searched for stock for me around Cleveland, she said there was one in the Gateshead store, but this was a price glitch, a system error, she said they have all been repriced at £80, she also said that there were loads of items scanning through at 1p which was also a system error.
So if you managed to get one well done, put the Lottery on you have been very lucky.

Perhaps you should go online and inform all of those professional detailers - the ones that spend days detailing not 30 minutes on the drive - and tell them that they are doing it wrong.
There are numerous Facebook groups dedicated to detailing too and some of the experts on there are foolishly telling people which power washers to use, which lances are best, the snow foam things, which detergents to use ........
Good job you know what you are on about as cleary these tens of thousands of professionals dont

Worked in Cardiff but there were 2 sized boxes. One with a picture of a bike (as per OP's picture) and one without. I picked up the last one I could see with a bike pic and asked them to scan it at the till.
Went theough at £18.80.
Seems like it's national but perhaps only the boxes with a bike pic on.
Cheers OP

Where did i say i was gogin to use it at point blank range?
If you have a small defect in the clear coat then a pressure washer even at distance can easily remove the clear coat..
the layer of clear coat use now is very thin, most stone chips on the front of the car will have removed the clear coat and pressure washing this even at a range will cause it to flake away..
I would never clean my car with a pressure washer.. I do not see the reason for a pressure washer to clean the car, they do not clean the car, you need to use a sponge still, so rinsing can be easily done with a hose.
Pressure washers are great for cleaning paths etc.. but not cars.
