I tried posting this and the url didn't show. Someone asked for a link, I added one and then the post disappeared. I think I may have broken a rule. Anyway the deal appears to be this weekend only, 21,22 Jan. Checkout the website if the Link doesn't show.

Hate this company, bought 2 SIMs earlier last year, cancelled after a few months - as I got a better deal - then yesterday received a demand for money (and the threat of debt collectors even though it was the first communication from them) they say I owe them. Finally got through on the phone where they eventually admitted that my 'contract' hadn't been cancelled as requested!
I'd never recommend them!

That happened to me , they are lazy with cancellation, it took me 2 months to cancel my 30 day contract, eventually got the refund. My advice is once you give them cancellation notice, check again after few days and take person's name too.

Hi angusangus, its not good to hear that you had this problem once you decided to cancel with us. There must have been an issue that caused this and we're really sorry about that.

I want to get this, but seeing the reviews and the previous comments are putting me off. I only plan on having this until august, and frankly, i'm quite scared about this affecting my credit rating or the fact that there may possible be "hidden charges" included. What a shame really.

usually, when you cancel a contract (any contract) it doesn't end 30 days after you tell them you want to leave..., just saying.... cos there are always plenty of people telling how they cannot cancel their contracts...
iDmobile to user777
24 Jan 17#26
Hi user777, if you're on a SIM only rolling contract, you can either request a PAC and move your number to another network or we can process a 30 day disconnection. This can be requested via the phone on 0333 003 7777, https://www.idmobile.co.uk/email-us or via social media.

I've been with them for about 2 years. Not had any problems. I have £5 per month 250 mins, 5000 texts and 500MB of data. So I bought this. I probably should have called them though and asked to change over, but I figured it'd probably be a hassle. So I guess I'll need to cancel my current one and jump on the new one.
I hate talking to any companies like this, even Virgin Media. It's usually someone who you can barely even understand.

Okay, I take back what I said. First time I've spoken to them and it's an utter mess. I ordered this new SIM and so I wanted to call them to make sure I can change to this new tarriff/bill. She told me she can't let me keep my old ID mobile number and use it with the new ID mobile SIM I've ordered for this deal.
Utter garbage. Oh and I was right, could barely understand her.
Almost forgot, they also want to charge me £5 to close my current bill even though I'm still sticking with ID.
Okay so from the email they sent me on confirmation my new SIM (this deal) has been sent to me: Yet the clown on the phone just told me it can't. Wow. Great. I'm going to be **** off at them and end up having to cancel the new one too, to which they'll likely charge me another **** fee.
Oh, despite it being a 1 month contract. Why do I need to pay to stop the bill if it's a 1 month contract? Even if it wasn't, I've been with them since 2013. So it shouldn't even have a fee regardless.
Question for anyone that might know - Do they start billing you by Direct Debit as soon as you've ordered this deal? Or do they start the DD bill as soon as you start using the SIM? Because if I can, I'll just not even use the damn thing and be done with these losers.

Hi OptimusPrimeval, did you also encounter an issue with cancellation. We send a notification once cancellation has been requested so you should have received this to confirm your request.
iDmobile
24 Jan 17#25
Hi pannan, as with all mobile contracts, the SIM would be active as soon as your order was processed and dispatched. Were you able to cancel the SIM if you decided not to use it?
iDmobile
24 Jan 17#27
Hi unrealeck, we can provide some answers to your situation.
We are not able to switch the number from one account to another so, as you purchased a new connection, this could not be done, the only charge to close your account would be for the 30 day notice period.
As this was not an upgrade order, you wouldn't keep your number as described.
Your cancellation fee would be zero as you would still receive full service during your 30 day notice period so this is not a fee.
iD Mobile accounts are activated when dispatched to provide a full months allowance, this date becomes your billing date and payment is due by direct debit 14 days later.

24 Jan 17#28
What would you advise for my situation? If I cancel before the 14 days, will I be charged for that new SIM (if I haven't used it)?
Will I be able to upgrade my current number to give me the 1.5GB of data instead of the 256MB I get on my current plan?

I had cancelled in October and even though I impressed on the call handler that I was cancelling two contracts, I just knew it would come back to haunt me so I noted the date. The letter I received 3 months later was threatening and aggressive. I have experience of law so it did not frighten me but it really agitated me. There was absolutely no need for it!
Thanks for the apology but I couldn't have made it clearer that I had two accounts to cancel in my original call.

Yes, I phoned and cancelled twice, (second time was to check cancellation was going through) and was told it was. Few weeks later received letter telling me I owed money and that it would be passed on to a debt agency and affect my credit score.
After 2 more phonecalls (one in which the 'customer service' basically accused me of lying) it was as far as I am aware finally sorted. But I still need to perform a credit check to double check this.
Not happy is an understatement!

Based on the comments here, I wouldn't go near this company. The potential for headaches and long term negative effects far out weigh anything they are offering to sell here.
Remember they need your business. And you have a choice.
I've had to put a call recorder on my phone which shouldn't be necessary and is a pain to manage but that still doesn't help until the process is too far gone. And by then the time spent trying to deal with these sorts of companies... I'd happily pay double to ensure peace of mind. And I'm thankful to you guys have put your experiences up,

Deal has expired but you can get the same terms until 28th Jan as ID are celebrating 500,000 customers. All new SIM only and pay monthly phone plans now come with 500MB data free. So you can still get 1.5MB for £5 etc.

iD - Question, if a iD payg user wants to upgrade to sim only or monthly handset what is the procedure ?
iDmobile
27 Jan 17#42
Hi seaniboy, unfortunately, we do not offer upgrades for PAYG customers but they may be eligible to take out a contract and can do this in-store, online or over the phone. Details can be found on our websit here:
Yes yes but you missed the point - what about moving mobile number from iD payg to iD monthly, procedure please
iDmobile
30 Jan 17#44
Hi seaniboy, at this time we don't have a process to move from PAYG to SIM only or plans with phones. this is something that we're working on for the future.
legohead1977

I ordered two for my kids however ordered one GoTo plan in error. Called ID to see if I can upgrade or amend the plan and told no. Only thing I can do is cancel under the 14 day policy and apply for a new contract. I do this and get declined due to "credit rating". I have never been refused credit before and check my Experian report just in case and my score is over 950.
I call ID and then in around about way get told they have limits of two per customer. I now have a red ! On my credit file as a result.
I used to work for Three and due to staff deals I at one time had several phone contracts and Broadband deals for the family in my name. This is a capped £5 sim only! Annoyed is an understatement.
