Looks okay, though the original price seems rather inflated (HP's rrp is £550)
It would really benefit from an SSD drive for everyday tasks and I wouldn't recommend it for gaming, the Intel 620 will struggle even at 720p.

It supports M.2 as follows...

M.2 SATA-3 SSD
M.2 SATA configurations: 128GB 256GB

HDD+SSD configurations: 1TB (5400) 9.5mm HDD + 128GB M.2 SATA-3 SSD
**I assume 1TB is an example and the 2TB existing drive could be used **

Also, for the Optical drive it says: 9.0mm tray load - SATA - Fixed (not modular)
** does "not modular" mean it cannot be removed!? **
EDIT: manual says that the base and battery have to be removed before optical drive can be removed; a similar process has to be followed to insert an M.2 SSD. Perhaps, then, too much trouble for most people.

I have this laptop, really happy with it (except for the DVD drive which feels very cheap and flimsy!)

I don't use it for gaming so can't comment on that side of it.

​Because people see i7 and think that the system will be really fast not realising that having just a hard drive will make the system sluggish.

The more people that realise how much better an ssd is then im sure the market will adapt.

same laptop with same spec apart from 256GBP ssd instead for £30 more, straight from HP

Good to see the boycott of HP trickling into them offering cheap deals but still would not buy

saw a similar deal in ebuyer and amazon. i think it's the non Full HD screen version for 450 and abit more expensive for FHD.

Actually ordered one of these earlier today to collect tomorrow from Portsmouth. Phone call later to say they only had the display model in stock so were cancelling my order.

Have gone online since and no stores in portsmouth or southampton have stock in store - have to pay online for next day delivery to store. Bit frustrating as you'd expect that a laptop that's being advertised on tv would be in stock in store. Gone for it anyway as it sounds like a good deal.

Not bad but that 2TB disk is for marketing numbers and not having an SSD at this price point seems very cheap of HP. Dual-core CPU and no discrete graphics is also an odd choice - I'm sure it will be good for some users.

Also can't believe Currys are claiming 'save £200', who would pay £749 for it?!

What is the I5 laptop like? Im looking at purchasing this one but cannot find any reviews about it?

but those are both for a 15.6 inch laptop. This deal posted is for a 17.3 inch screen size!!
