For the non dvd at £319 its a bargain especially as its 1080p, note that its a last gen core i3 5005u.
For reference it benchmarks as follows:
i3 5005u: 2912
Core m3 6y30 (Surface pro 4): 3056
i3 6100u: 3893
i5 6200u: 3931

Just claiming the cashback now on this one. In case it helps anyone Laptopsdirect aren't listed in the where you bought this from drop down list. You need to select "Buy It Direct Ltd".

Laptop arrived today, Full HD
Very pleased and with the £20 discount and £5 postage I only paid £315 so all in all I would say this deal is still very much alive if still slightly more than a few weeks ago

Not sure there is a 720p version looks like a typo on their site?
Anyway, I'll find out soon enough.

The original deal and current Technoworld laptops are 1920 x 1080.
As you say - see what turns up and decide then (some people don't care about resolution). May be a good idea if you have a screen print of what you bought but still easy returns for internet orders.
The i5 is about 16% faster than i3 (ignoring age of processor, power usage etc). The SSD in the i3 will make the i3 laptop noticeably quicker. What's your budget?

Was hoping for one under £300 and most I'll use it for will be drawing with something like manga studio or Photoshop?
But may stretch a little over £300 of its worth it.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but thinking of buying this or the i5 deal. Anyone know which is better? Processor or a better sdd?
I'm a graphic designer and buying it for light use with Illustrator/PhotoShop for whilst I'm away from home. I've ran those programs on 10 year old laptops before so pretty confident it will be fine for my purposes. However my desktop will still be my preferred choice for graphics work.
I've studied and worked in graphic design for almost 20 years. Back then it was true that most creative sorts used Apple Macs as Windows wasn't so hot for graphics work but these days I wouldn't dream of buying Apple for design stuff. In fact I wouldn't buy Apple anything unless I wanted the world to know I was a 'grade A' mug.
S.
EDIT - just to add - I only do static/non3D design which isn't demanding compared to movies etc.

Piece of string question as you have added no variables for anyone to give a valid answer.
Same applies to "is it good for games" type questions.
Yes is the general answer but not high end game nor high end design packages, although it will start most of them.
Just phoned laptops direct to order the DVD/RW version. When I enquired how to claim the £60 cash back he checked and said that the £60 cash back offer from HP had expired

i spoke to a sales guy at laptops direct and he said he believes the HP offer is still running. HP don't like to publicise it on the web though, but it's still running. He said, if it's advertised on laptopsdirect website, they have to honour it.

Hmmm I'm sure someone is supposed to come along by now to point out this 'u' version of the i3 is slower than a desktop i3 from 4 years ago blah blah blah and HP is less reliable than a damp lettuce inside a Faberge egg*......at least those damned 768x1366 moaners can stick this deal in their respective pipes and smoke it. Hot from me.
*Faberge Eggs with damp lettuce is not recommended for computing use.

I must say my first impression of them isn't great either. I think the guy in their sales team hung up on me because I wanted to order via the website instead of through him - i was just letting him know that their desktop website doesn't show the promo code field in the basket which makes a deal like the one highlighted above pretty difficult to get!
he clearly wasn't interested in helping, just wanted a sale.
