Surprised this isn't already on here as I personally think it's a good buy, although saying that I'm so bad at spending money I still haven't gone ahead!

I bought it at this price from Currys using Top Cash Back and have been using it for a week... it is freaking amazing! Massive 10kg drum and it is incredibly quiet and way better than a vented one.
I almost went for vented on the basis that my last machine was rubbish and took ages but I'm glad I didn't! I think it was down to the model, it was also a washer/dryer, it had to get rid of a lot of water before it could start the drying process. This is a totally different experience.
The water neatly collects in a reservoir panel behind the glass door and it is a doddle to empty after echo load. The fluff filter is also really easy to empty too.
Don't forget that a vented one either needs
a hose to a window/door or a wall vent to avoid condensation in the room.
It's really gentle on clothes, they're not coming out tangled. I honestly couldn't recommend this more, it's superb.

everyone these are old models in fact over two years old! I bought a couple of these when they released and OK at first but after a while really bad!. hoover and candy are the same company for anyone who haven't realised, however these exact models have an issue with leaking and it takes hoover months to resolve if they decide to of course I'd avoid unless you want a headache and this is an honest opinion from experience and one problem leads to another with these!.

The item on this thread seems to be a 9kg drum, is your 10kg one a diff model?
How long does it take a half load to dry clothes from a 1400 spin ?
It depends on what you're looking for but it's not a hands down better buy. I haven't compared the stats fully but I can see it has a 9kg load as opposed to 10kg and I would personally consider Hoover a higher quality brand over Candy.
I've tried Beko and Candy in the past and they are really budget brands low on specs.
It would perhaps be more accurate to say 'cheaper buy' than 'better' as it is £10 cheaper.

I disagree that it's a better buy even at full price it's £240 compared to the Hoover which will be back up to £300 tomorrow.

Apologies, my mistake. Mine is another model. It's a Hoover Dynamic Mega Sensor Condenser (10kg). It was £200 from Currys which is why I mistook it for the same one. Sozza! x

That looks like a great dryer. Was it on special offer at £200. It's currently £279 and supposedly reduced from £379.

With heat pump dyers being are much cheaper to run and now available as sensible money.

From what I read about heat pumps, they dont dry properly so you have to run them longer not really saving anything on leci. They also break down easier.

Agree..So many reviews from different brands all saying same thing, clothes not drying properly so buyer beware regarding heat pump models.

I was surprised to see that many (most?) condensing driers don't have an option of connecting to waste pipes to get the water automatically pumped out - and this drier seems to be one of them : http://service.hoover.co.uk/manuals/VTC791NB.PDF
At the same time there are driers, even not expensive ones, that have this option.
Personally, I would never buy a drier that requires emptying the water container manually - unless there is no waste pipes nearby.

I have a Hoover one paid similar price or maybe £219.99 for this one at Argos It has an option for waste pipe etc so can be plumbed if needed but for me the water tank on the door is amazing just lifts out and empty like a jug of water so simple. Its an 8KG drum but its massive never seen a drum so big compared with my washing machines 9KG drum this one seems nearly twice as big!
The dryer itself is perfect no clothes ever come out slightly damp always dries well.

From someone that has a Grundig does a fine job drying.
cycle cost and time are independent variables.
Just because it may take a bit longer does not mean it will cost more.

The other thing notice with this model is the rubbish condenser efficiency of 71% a decent heatpump will be over 90%.
that means 30% of the moisture it takes from the clothes goes into the room, 3 times that of a heatpump dryer

My AEG dryer has just stopped turning after 10 years service, so I've ordered one of these. I had already been looking at it on the Currys site. It should be arriving Friday with free delivery and £15.99 to remove and recycle the old dryer. 2.1% cashback with Quidco.

I bought the Hoover dryer above and it's really good. The only thing it doesn't have is a light inside. Also the water container is a bit harder to access than the AEG. It squeaked a bit when I first turned it on but it settled within a few minutes. I don't think I'd buy AEG again as I don't think they are worth the extra money. My AEG dryer had only light use in winter and I never used it in summer. I never overloaded it. My AEG washing machine needed repairing three times in 7 years and when it went again I replaced it with a LG with steam option.

Bought the 10kg version DMCD1013B yesterday using code: LKA15A which takes £15 off the price. So I paid £264.99 and choose to have the free delivery. It's coming on Tuesday. Well pleased.
