Mine seems OK, bought to replace a NETGEAR XWNB5201 which had the symptoms you've mentioned after around 9 months (previous unit which I've RMA-ed also had similar issues and had to be reset manually everyday).
So far this TPLink unit is working fine but I find the transmission strength lower than the NETGEAR's. I've since changed settings to only transmit at 11n and changed the channel to reduce interference. Link for utility if you wanna change your settings:
Will be interesting to know if any of you buying this start suffering the problems further down the line as listed in my last post. Mine ran for a day or two before I began to notice problems with the wifi, starts where your wireless device reports it's connected to your network but you can't access anything external, in my case local seemed ok which made no sense at all. The wired connection worked fine for both.

Mine wouldn't even last a day before problems started happening. My experience of TP-Link powerlines is they are good for wired connections but rubbish for providing built-in wifi.

Had similiar problems with the wi-fi unit frequent disconnections and the wifi ssid disappearing altogether ended up going back to using my BT Mini Wi-Fi Home Hotspot 500 kit which works smoothly.

Anyone interested in this kit have a read of this:
I bought the V1 kit from Maplin and after much troubleshooting concluded it was not fit for purpose (I lost the receipt too :disappointed: ). I dropped it in favour of using a second router as an access point.

i highly recommend the Bt Wifi extenders , £37.99 amazon and tesco, £5 to £10 cheaper on ebay.
Also just picked up at Sainsbury's for 29.99, same model number as the Amazon deal.

Just been into Sainsburys, Gloucester, and they had these priced at being reduced from £20 to £16.66, so I took it to the checkout and it came out at £29.95 reduced from £45. I told them that the shelf ticket showed reduced to £16.66 and they agreed to charge me this (I also had a voucher for £2.25 off as I had just bought petrol), so had a real bargain. The chap took the shelf ticket off, so not sure if anyone else will be so lucky!

That problem is easily resolved tp-link released a firmware update last year that upgrades the AV500 models to AV600. See 2nd firmware update down on update page http://uk.tp-link.com/download/TL-WPA4220KIT_V1.html#Firmware . You just need to apply the update using the tpPLC Utility and then your AV500 plugs are able to go up to 600mbps

The two pack is on offer in Sainsburys for £29.99. Part of the January sale. I bought these at £45 and they have been a God send

Is that the wi-fi version at £29.99? If so I may need to go take a trip.

Can this be used in conjunction with new BT hub with BT infinity?
I have the older version of the Linksys ones on my link and they work flawlessly. Tempted to get a set of the newer Linksys ones for £29.99 and extend the network even further.

I run these and no issues, it give you extension of network via main cable so it doen't have to be in wifi distant from the router. it can be setup to make a 2nd wifi network and it also give you a guess network to stop visitors getting onto your main network.

Is this the one that has to be on the same ring main?

Its the wifi version. Don't think that version shows online but exactly the same kit number, I got mine from Maplin as we had to exchange another type
Can the Wi-Fi booster be configured to run a vpn like cyberghost? thinking it maybe a great way to get amazon instant video usa to run on my xbox one. I know you can do this is a main router but don't really want the my whole network running though a vpn.

I bought this to extend my virgin wifi into my home extension. Took 5 min to set up and works a treat. Dont believe the bad reviews I was panicking but happy after it worked.

If you are thinking of buying the 3 pack, it may be worth buying 2 packs of the 2 extenders at £35.99 each, that way you get an extra non wi-fi extender for £7.

I think he meant £29 more, so it's £64.99

I got the three pack this week, they work well, £29 for an extra extender is good I think.
