Wall plugs bending instantly and screws also weak. Good price but jesus are the fittings bad quality.

Spend a little more and go to Homebase. I just bought 5 new ones, shiny chrome and very sturdy. they have nicer looking ends than this, can hold a heavy door curtain and have smaller brackets which don't show the screws. Far superior quality than the ones I previously bought from argos

they do that in pretty much every store if your willing to, obviously not good idea in your case but plenty of time over Christmas slightly dent packaging or slightly ripped box they will always give you 10-20% off if you agree not to return
.............obviously i was damaging packaging

Yeah this happened to me with a internet router. Noticed it didn't have any cellophane on it but the box had a sticker on saying " Opened and inspected". I paid full price. When I got it home, all the instructions & wifi code were missing, so they hadn't inspected it very well, took it back, got a refund then bought it again in another Argos and it was completely new & unopened.

Yeah, happened to me too. Bought two bottles of screen cleaner and the guy gave me both of them, one sitting on top of the other. As the top one slide off, he looked nervous. I was in a hurry, so threw both in my backpack and left. When I got home, one box was torn open and bottle was completely empty! Devious little rat! I brought it back for a refund and wore my cycling camera on my wrist, filming the whole thing in case they refused a refund. But they did give refund. Sickening how they think it's okay to do this.
Got a floor lamp another time, last one in store, when assembling wouldn't screw together properly. Couldn't be bothered to take it apart and back, so forced it together with pliers. Not happy about that.
Who knew Argos were so lousy and dishonest to get their staff to do this? Didn't realise it happened to lots of other people too.

Ordered these and was not impressed and returned them
Then jewelled ends are tiny and don't think they could take a heavy curtain
