As above, I've been after some steel shelving for the garage and this appears to be ideal and a great price too.

Ordered some for the garage, thanks. Noticed that the screwfix linbin type storage bins are also a very good price at around a £1 each. Ordered some to go on the shelves , will be interesting to see what the quality is like.

hardly enough for the frame thay would be u will need something else like plyboard aswell so say another 20 quid if u want too take more than 3 shelfs. then another 20 quid. or If u have loads of time the u could do it for alot less but more hassle and headache. go around places look for good quality pallets and some places let u have them for free not sure if u would get the good hard ones the blue ones u can't have they are owned by some company.

Around ten or twelve 2.4m lengths of timber at a couple of quid each plus £5/£10 pounds for fixings.

Please tell me how your budget worked out.
I was going to build of timber but my calculations were in a region of £100 per unit + 4 hours labour.

I sent it back because it's useless. I'm going to buy some timber and build some custom shelving that will be much better. It won't cost much more than this junk.
Good price but delivery kills it... OK if you live up north it seems.

I am suggesting spending a little bit more and building something much bigger and stronger and better. This is rubbish.

Buy some timber and fixings from Wickes and build substantial custom racking for little more than this.

for 20 quid won't get much structural timber from wicked other than 2 x 3

Does this come with fittings to anchor to wall? I.e. to stop kids pulling it over and killing themselves?!

screwix is made of about 0.7mm metal, very easy to bend and twist by hand, not steel I presume...

This is a OK value for money.
I just bought and built 3 units.
This will never take 1000kg, not in widest dreams.
I put 20kg on each shelf. Under a total load of 100kg, when pushed by hand gently, the unit wobbles and legs are bowing.
Beware!
You can always sue screwfix if you kill yourself...

200kg per shelf?
Chipboard shelf?
May be best to distribute the weight on the shelf frame rather than the chipboard middle!
