Yes, so you quickly find the full wiring diagram for the make model and year of your car (which you keep with you at all times in case of such emergency) take out your magnifying glass and torch (if at night) and using another page to locate which fuse box, tracing the narrow tracks and using the codes, you find the fuse that has blown, simples!

had these in my previous car, found a faulty fuse in 1 second, did not even need to get the fuse manual. I want all my fuses like this now!.

not tried these, but if the 'glows red' function actually works, that's very a nifty idea!

That's nothing. Decent quality fuses go bang when they are overloaded

But you wouldn't be able to know which one went "bang" and got fused with the "decent quality" ones your referring to.. At least with this one if it fuses it's no hassle diagnosing the problem as you can see it glowing to say it's fused.
Great find op.. It's getting hot.. heat added :sunglasses:

Normally, the fuse that has blown is the one on the circuit of the things that are not working. That tends to make it easy to identify.

Sounds a good idea. However identifying a standard fuse is not as dramatic as you make out.
The fuse box layout is usually on the back of the cover so no need to go searching opening other pages etc as you've removed the cover anyway with the intention to replace.
Torch might be required if it's dark and magnifying glass depending on eyesight

Why are people arguing about this sure you can by bulk normal fuses for less but it's 10p Halfords normally sell these for a whopping £3.39!

Amazing price considering it's Halfords. Super handy if you need one just-right-now.

My accessory wire stopped working and I've checked corresponding fuses, but all were fine. Had to go through every single one till I find blown one - it was engine management module fuse according to manual - huh! So in some cases fuses can be extremely fiddly!

I can see why this would be handy - especially in my Abarth 500 where the diagram in the manual bears absolutely no resemblance to the fuse box (I assume the diagram is for LHD cars).
However - I would worry about these. The whole point of a fuse is to permanently (and physically) disconnect the circuit. For the LED to be glowing, there must be some kind of circuit - albeit likely through a resistor or something, but I don't like the idea of a blown fuse still completing the circuit.

the led likely takes around 20 ma.. I don't think it will be enough to power any errent circuitry.. happy to be corrected and will always defer to knowledgeable opinions.

this is an absolutely brilliant idea and well worth 10p a pop. Additionally, this might alert you to a fuse which is blown which you may not have been aware
i just need to check what size my car take. if it is these size i will be buying up enough to replace all of them with enough for spares. thanks for the heads up OP
