seems to have happened to a few people, seems like google hadn't really sorted this offer out properly.. going by the comments on here and previous experience your refund should be processed without too much hassle though.

I bought a book with the £3 offer. Google Play charged me full amount. Applied for refund. Not sure why this happened.

the Hobbit was on list with no reduction price, same with player one. the former was one I purchased. Google refunded full price within one hour of complaint.

What book did you choose? Shows you a list to choose from and before you press buy it will say promotion can be applied and the next screen will show the discount

Caveat emptor, I purchased book for £3.99 and received no reduced offer. Have applied for refund. Not happy. Do not use offer unless you can confirm reduction in price.

something strange happened on my account. There was a £3 one and a £2 one. I "redeemed" both then went to buy batman vs superman and the price was £6.17 - £4.17 = £2. anyway I'm happy with that price but strange as it doesnt seem to be any combination of either offer
Edit just went to buy another book (watchmen) and the price is £8.54 - £5.54 = £3. So it seems the offers are actually buy any selected book for £3 or £2 not receive that amount of credit. So strange

I did (at least I think I did!) However, it was refunded without argument, and when I went back to the Play store and clicked on the banner again, I was told that the £2 credit wasn't available on my account... I went to my email to see if there was anything mentioned about it, but there wasn't. When I went back to the Play store the banner had gone... :disappointed:
But then I scrolled don't the page, and saw that I now have been given a £3 voucher! I tried buying Ready Player One again, and this time it worked! So I got an extra £1 off! :face_with_monocle:

Any geeks who grew up in the 80's I highly recommend 'Ready Player One'. It's absolutely brilliant, you'll love it.

Watch these offers. I clicked through and redeemed the offer for £3, selected a £3.99 book and on purchase it took only 99p off the book. Just spent 40 mins on the phone to Googleplay getting the correct credit back from them. Had to send screenshots via email to prove the offer was there as they where saying it was an old offer despite the date being upto 31st March on the page.

Discount didn't apply for me, even though I chose a book that was in the list (Ready Player One)... List price £4.99, charged £4.99.
I've requested a refund.

I did post it under "deals" originally, but my posts keep on getting moved around.. if anyone knows how to move it back, I'd be more than happy with that.

As you can only apply the 'credit' to a book costing over £3.99 - this is a 'voucher' or 'deal', rather than a 'freebie' surely?
