Most people just hope onto the stronger side whether they agree or not, quite a sheepish move imo. Probs one of the best deals ive seen since black friday for the 1080, easily sell those headphones for £30-£40.

You're right! someone needs to tell Jen-Hsun Huang ASAP that he had the wrong number of TFlops displayed on the 1080 launch live stream.
Project scorrpio is on its way.. the most powerful console with 6 tflops of single bla bla for around £400 in this June. So It has Cpu, Gpu, Ports, Ram, Harddisc.. all for that price...
Briefly, i expect 1080 to do a hard hit at around £350 by June.

Two issues I see here, these cards are measured in TFlops not GFlops. The 1080 is a 9 TFlop card and the Vega is rumored (not confirmed) to be 12 TFlops. I would expect the card to be at a similar price point as the 1080Ti or even the Titan X. You may be disappointed if you're expecting that level of performance for less than the price of a 1080.

No one knows anything about pricing or benchmarks, so how can you say these things are "for sure"?
These companies are out for your money at the end of the day. If indeed the high end Vega card is 'twice as powerful' as the 1080 there's absolutely not a chance on Gods green earth it'll be cheaper than the current 1080.

Like I said I could only give an estimate on what the prices would be, but your 100% right with the performance of the 1080 and it is nothing to underestimate. I guess the 1080ti will also have its place for people wanting to seek 144hz on 1440p. Also regarding hype of new cards, I do remember when the 980ti came out and everyone was like this gpu will get 60fps on 4k in most games and they ended up disappointed. I'll be fine with my R9 Fury for a while, probs will upgrade in 2-3 years when this card starts struggling on 1440p and by then hopefully 1440p will be mainstream enough for mid range cards to run it smoothly.

You can't compare it like that though.
Truth is the 1080 performs far above and beyond most users needs and expectations and it will do for a few years yet. I get 100fps at 3440x1440 and Ultra settings in BF1. For a majority of gamers, the 1080 is actually an overkill.
There's absolutely no way it will drop to £400... it won't be anywhere near that because it would make the 1080Ti pretty much a pointless purchase for everyone but 4K gamers as its more than likely going to be around £700-£750. Not only that but pricing the 1080 so low would also push down the value of cards below it, the 1060 would become obsolete when the 1070 could be bought for £230.
It's not going to happen. The Ti is an addition to the top-end line, not a replacement.
This happens every time new GPU's are announced. People get hyped thinking the current top card will drop 1/3 in price... then when they realise they only drop by around £30 and vote every GPU deal here cold in frustration.

Think back to the 980 when it got launched that was £600 ish and then bam down to £400 when the 980ti came out. Enthusiast grade cards always loose value when a newer succeeder comes in. Also on a side note see how much the 980 sells for now, you can get em new for £260 and used for £200-£220 ish, do take that into account when purchasing a card with a high premium price because in 2 years the same thing will probz happen with the 1080.

Blower style coolers are generally hotter louder and because of gpu boost 3.0 it now means it won't be as fast.
