I would think that quite a few people out there aren't actually interested in watching pirated movies or taking something for nothing. Personally I feel that Sky Cinema on now TV is actually very good value for money, a £10 month pass works out at only £2.50 a week, that's less than the price of a pint to watch a movie or two, and to do it knowing that you are taking a legal route and paying your way. For all the work that the film crews do to make a movie I have no problem paying out a couple of quid a week to enjoy a film.

I can't understand how people posting that stealing via piracy is fine and aren't getting their accounts blocked? it's theft and it shouldn't be publicised. Even if you disagree and are pro-piracy, it doesn't have a place in a legitimate thread where for law-abiding citizens they are looking for the best deal on sky channels via now tv... which is a deal compared to normal monthly cost or even the normal vouchers....

note: Kody may not be illegal but using sources to download tv/movies you haven't paid for is stealing.

In a thread about washing powder - it doesn't state that it's a stupid deal because you could shove a box of it under your coat and walk out does it??

Just get a kodi box I get all the films currently in cinemas.early on the pictures are terrible because just someone sitting in cinema with a camcorder.but after a month or so they get better.and still before sky shows them

I'm not pretending that a lot of people don't use Kodi and really enjoy getting their movies that way. I know that I used to watch movies in a similar way in the past, each to their own of course. I'm just saying that these days I've come round to thinking that movies on Now TV offers great value for money and a nice experience, after all it's all about finding what works for you and whether or not you'd prefer to take a more legal route, but like I say, each to their own.

If they want to keep feeding the likes of sky and now tv, which I think I'm right in saying is run by "rip off sky" then that's up to them, but I know where my smart money is going......and it's not to the likes of sky TV!!!! :sunglasses: p.s a message to the guy saying kodi is not legal...please google it and brush up on your facts first please!!!! :confused:

​I have tried this, but my broadband provider somehow killed the download speeds as to make it more or less unusable. Whereas with nowtv it is the opposite, I can't believe how stable and great resolution the streaming is, seems way better than other sources.

I don't think anyone is in denial that this practice goes on, it is just that some people don't condone theft. And yes downloading content that has been illegally obtained is still theft.

You can apply a new code when your existing one has 30 days (or less) until it expires. If there is more than 30 days left the "Add a code" box does not appear on the account page in the relevant section.

Is there a Now TV App available for your box? They have them available for many sorts of streaming devices (Roku, Apple TV, etc.)

Wothout a Now TV box or a suitable streaming device you could still create an account and watch on a PC or tablet (such as an iPad)

Now tv is good and I enjoy it a lot, good family times. The box also has all the catchup services and you could watch on two devices at same time.

The best thing is when you select the movies they play.

If you have a PS3 or PS4 games console in your house you can use that. But it can work out pretty good value to just buy a Now TV box as you get a pass included with them and you can often find them discounted, check out the supermarkets to see who has the best deals. For example you can get a Now TV box with a two month movie pass from Amazon for £15, but what you can do is sign up online to get your two months of cinema for £5 and then when that runs out you can use the included voucher for another two months, which essentially gets you a box and four months of movies for only £20.

Kodis themselves are legal, it's what you can do with them that is illegal. It is technically legal to pirate content as long as it is not stored locally, but at best that is a loophole, ethically it is no different from pirating.

Piracy in the UK and most of europe is looked at in the same way as illegal drugs, where personal use is tolerated or in some cases even legal on the books, but people who supply pirated material (ie the dealers) are the ones breaking the law.

The Smart box is OK, but not worth it if you have a DVR or something similar. I got one at Christmas for £25 (which included 3 months entertainment) for the live pause/rewind functionality (and access to Freeview HD which my TV didn't have) the pause and rewind feature is very nice, and navigating around all the different apps is nice and quick and easy, especially the NowTV live channels which are as easy to access as any of your normal freeview channels.

My one gripe however is that there is no way to input a channel number, so you have to scroll through every channel to get to the ones you want. A smaller gripe is the the box has a MicroSD card slot that does nothing, it doesn't allow recording of shows, and it doesn't extend pause/rewind time (which is only 30 minutes). It is only there because it is a modified Roku.

Of course there is also no Amazon or Netflix apps, just normal catch up.

the Regular smart box has been on sale for £12.50 and assuming it is the same in every other way minus having freeview that is a pretty good deal (and basically works out almost free when you factor in the fact that I believe you get 2 months entertainment pass)

I have a chromecast, the NowTV Smart Box and a FireTV Stick and I would say the best one is the NowTV Smart Box. all 3 of them cost me about the same each (~£25) and the Chomecast i find the most useless because you need to control it via your phone, although it does have access to more apps, it is the only way to have Amazon, Netflix and NowTV on one device, you still need those apps on your phone and then to cast to the TV.

The Fire Stick I loved for a while but it crashes quite a lot, I have heard this is less of a problem with the full size FireTV though. One good thing about the FireTV and Stick is that you can play games on it, so it makes a good cheap games console for young kids (you can also buy a dedicated games controller) and it has a bunch of fun classic games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Pacman and Crossy Road (not classic but basically Frogger).

You can sideload apps on the FireStick and I tried once to get the NowTV app on there, but it does not load properly :disappointed:

While this may apply in your case, it is not true as a general rule because there are other options out there - the cheapest being Roku devices - which offer access to all three services (i.e. Amazon, Netflix and NowTV) and many more besides. So, if anyone is looking for a cost-effective way to get those services on one device, I'd suggest Roku. You could, of course, use a Playstation or Xbox as well... but, unless you have one (or both) of those available to you already, the Roku devices (Stick - £29, Roku 2 - £37.99 and Roku 3 - £69.00) are the best for those on a budget.

Yes sign into your account, go to My Account, then My Passes, then Click Apply Voucher Code for the relevant type of pass and enter the existing customer code.

NOW TV seem to have expired all their existing offer codes and also updated the links to remove the code aspect from it so only new customers can sign up
