I had one of these. The surface was no bigger than a piece of bread. The whole unit got very hot. Returned it for a refund.

I have this. A great size for quickly cooking a sandwich filler or reheating something. Had the large family sized one before and it would get used once or twice a month. This is used every couple of days. As to it getting hot, the entire grill gets hot when in use just like an over. Have never had a problem.

i brought one from Currys last year.
Small, so great for a single person. Cooks from frozen. Drip tray is great. No plastic cleaning prong, like they used too when George Forman were launched.
Definately worth it for £9.99 my one cost more!
I normally heat frozen tuna steaks and eat it with salad, so really useful to heat up fish so quickly and healthy
