With Feb Half Term & Easter Hols not far off, I've been looking for cheap things to do with the kids, whilst searching I came across The Donkey Sanctuary based at Sidmouth in Devon which I did know about, but I didn't realise that they also had other centres around the UK & in Europe.
Entry is FREE to all (though donations are welcome), the main site at Sidmouth has over 500 donkeys, is open 365 days per year, has farm trails that are bike friendly, a maze & outdoor playcentre, woods, nature centre & dogs are welcome on leads.
They have other sites with completely Free entry (donations welcome) in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Derbyshire, Ivybridge, Belfast, Ireland, Spain & Italy
Next open day for Derbyshire is 7th May. - sylv

If you're heading for the Brum one you can make a day of it as it's situated within Sutton Park where there are adventures a plenty to be had: streams; walks; lakes; woods; wild cattle; wild horses; playgrounds; swans; ducks; woods; bridges; trains; brambles a plenty; trees to climb; sailing club; fishing; cycle routes/descents; model aeroplane flying area; golf course and lesiure centre adjoining...
There are also several eateries WITHIN the park: Town Gate Cafe; Blackroot Bistro; Toby Carvery; Miller & Carter Steak House...
Enjoy

Fabulous, I'm all for a free day out and love that you're spreading the word of the Donkey Sanctuary... heat for the fact you'll hopefully get them a few extra donations by those who visit. I'll be donating when we take our children to Birmingham (By the way I didn't even realise there was a Donkey Sanctuary in Birmingham!) Thanks!

I got married at the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth  it's a lovely place, if I didn't live so far away I would be there all the time. You can also sponsor a donkey, we had our adopted donkeys as our special guests at our wedding
