i was going to go to my local to have a look. worrying that you mention clogging. this was why i stopped using powder and switched to liquid tablet. However, I used persil the other day as I found an old box in the cupboard and it was fine.
i may just get one box and see if it works. thanks for the heads up about clogging.

Might be the powder has absorbed moisture after opening. Try and keep detergents in air tight boxes.
