Are extendable poles ok in terms of use? Or do the curtains catch on the "join"?
Is it better to get a singular pole if one fits/is available for the length you need?

they can catch depends on pole size and eyelet diameter or ring size sometimes i would get a single pole if i found a good deal or if i was 100% sure about what length i want to install it at lol

They do catch sometimes but you literally give the curtain a little wiggle and it goes over. If they're low enough to reach then just pull along the eyelet and its not a problem.
I've never had any problems with eyelets catching on my extendable B&Q poles. Be careful about how strong the pole is...I didn't realise how heavy curtains can be!
