Seems like a good price for this card which is normally relatively hard to find.

I heated it, think it's a fair price for this, certainly cheapest I have seen recently. I managed to get one for £160 last year due to a stock mix up (supplier advertised the 6GB but sent the 3GB) and think it's a superb card, obviously for what I paid, but I don't think I'd be unhappy with it at £190 either. Think sometimes people blow the whole RAM issue out of proportion as it manages surprisingly well. I even run less intensive games like Trackmania and the like at 4K max details and 60FPS so the 3GB isn't the end of the world. Yes more ambitious games would need more modest settings but sticking to 1080P should see this card cope for the next couple of years at least and at this price, you really shouldn't be expecting all that much more....

I would not recommend a 3GB 1060 to anyone who plays newer games as they are becoming more RAM hungry, Rust on High uses about 4GB+.

Decent price if you mainly play e-sports titles and aren't overly concerned with ultra settings with 1080p on the higher end AAA games.
Hard to recommend though over a 480.

Seems like a good price compared to normal price, heat.
If you can afford a better card, then so be it, but that doesn't relate to the deal price on this particular model.

It's around the right price, there's 4/5 1060 for 180-190 on Amazon.
But with a 480 8GB at £199.99 it's worth spending the extra £10.
The 4GB 480 are still too expensive and the 470 is not really a sweet spot price wise either.
If I were buying I'd go with the 8GB 480 unless I had a G-Sync monitor.

As per above, the 1060's are available at this price or slightly less from a few places. I know this is an EVGA FTW, but paying significantly more for a mid range card make little sense.
Also RX480 8GB, makes this deal seem even worse value, sorry. :disappointed:

If you dont mind buying repackaged/used, you can get a 1060 6GB for not much more that this, even new ones on amazon start from £30 more

I wasn't talking about this model specifically, most gtx 10 series cards from different manufacturers are pretty similar, a slight overclock, different fan design, some other negligible things, my point is you cant really go wrong just buying the cheapest one

Great card for current and past titles, may struggle in a few years, but don't forget that NVIDIA has quite good memory compression. 3GB on the NVIDIA card performs around the same as 3.6-3.8GB on an AMD card (Generally considered 20% better).
So, although it is nice to have more VRAM, this card is no slouch.Also, EVGA is a great brand, if you have to compare this to the reference 480 from AMD (the current other hot deal), then it's not really a good comparison, a blower cooler that runs hot? No thanks.
EVGA have an excellent RMA process and build really good products, can't recommend them enough.

3GB of ram is fine for most older cards but is an absolute NO-NO for cards this powerful, you will hit the limited ram barrier WAY before you can hit the GPU performance barrier for almost any new AAA game.

The amount of waffle on this thread is ridiculous, such poor advice. This card is meant for 1080p on modern games of which it can run all of them well. The example of rust is bad as that game isn't optimised well at all. For example, this card will max out GTA fine. Digitalfoundary found that at this moment in time the 6GB variant doesn't make a substantial difference - and to be honest, this isn't meant to be a 4k or long term card so getting the 6GB variant isn't going to make a substantial difference going forward as it will need replacing in a few years anyway. This would just be for someone who is looking to use GSYNC 144hz monitors on 1080p games like esports ones. Isn't really meant for actual gaming rigs who want overclocked quad core setups .

Agreed it is for 1080p and that it will do the job for many, but that doesn't make it a sound investment if you factor in the expected lifecycle of the card (shorter due to less VRAM) and you also factor in resale value in 24 months. Realistically, do you anticipate looking for a 3GB card in 2 years? Spending the extra on a 6GB or 8GB card will make it much more saleable.
There are games out there that will peg this card, Mirrors Edge wants more than 4GB VRAM and try playing Forza Horizon 3 on this on anything other than medium settings. It's not that it can't do a job, it can. It's just not the best VFM.
As another poster noted, the 3Gb cards are actually 5-7% slower than the 6GB variant which again will impact resale.
If you have only £190 in your back pocket, go grab a 4GB 480 and pocket the change.
