From the pics, it looks like the 24pin is a fixed cable. no problems unless you plan on putting in custom cables.
Would this be completely overkill for my rig with an rx480? Potentially going to a 1070 at some point. Currently using a mediocre novatech 500w bronze efficiency 80+

You could probably manage the 1070 on a 500W PSU, they aren't very thirsty cards.

Hi, would this fit in an itx case? (The Fractal Node 202). Is it as simple as looking at the dimension or is there other considerations I need to think about?

That needs SFX not ATX so no AFAIK.
Or at least PC Parts picker with the compatibility filter only lists SFX supplies: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/XsbtYJ
And there's not much choice (at least in stock). Seems a 650W Gold Silverstone is your max bet.
Mind you, can the Node 202 actually cool a rig which needs a 750W supply? 11L case so surely needs low power parts?

Nope, sorry. I have a Corsair 600w SFX PSU in 202 at the moment and I haven't had any problems, even with a small overclock applied.

In preparation for those who ask: evga G2 > GS = GQ. But all are very decent PSUs. This one has 5 yr warranty compared to 7 for the g2.

I think the confusion is because not all of the models in a line have the same warranty.
According to the EVGA page on the PSU review database: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page2293.htm
the 750W G2 has 10 years (as does the G1 which is FSP), but the 650W G2 is only 7 years. Strangely, they also list the 650W P2 as 5 years which is strange.

I was looking at the 850w versions of both the G2 and GS when I bought my PSU, I never considered that different wattages in the same line of PSU would have different warranty periods.

If I hadn't bought the seasonic X750 posted on hukd a few weeks back for 90 (80 after 10 off student discount) I would definitely have bought this

The G2 is based on a superflower oem and the GS is based on seasonic work. The higher wattage GS 850 and above are rated tier 1 because of higher efficiency as they use a different seasonic platform.
The GQ has similar reviews to the GS. To be honest these are all quality PSUs but I bought a G2 purely because it is one of the only PSUs that got a perfect 10 jonnyguru review and because it has near perfect ripple suppression. Also there was a sale on Amazon st the time so they were only 6 quid between them. And considering the 2 yrs extra warranty I thought it was worth it. I'm not sure it makes a big difference in real life.
