System 3 has bowed down to the overwhelming pressure of gamers worldwide to produce a reboot of the legendary Constructor. First released back in 1997, this enduring real time build 'em up strategy game is heading back to thrill today's gamers on the current generation formats.
Constructor HD is a remake of the original 1997 classic in which the player manages a contruction company, building housing estates - except with a twist..
Along with constructing housing and keeping your tenants happy you can utilise various undesireables such as thugs and hippies to sabotage rival constructors and build your own all powerful housing empire!
I had this on ps1 as a kid and hated it lol. that damn 6ft cockroach infecting all my houses

Heated, decent price for a pre-order, just hope it actually comes out this time. Shaping up to be one of the most delayed games of the generation and it has some stiff competition. Will be worth the wait if they get it right though...

Do Argos take the money straight away?

Any idea if I can go in store and preorder there by paying with gift certificates?

Strange that they don't appear to be doing a PS4 version? Wonder if they have deal with Microsoft...
Putting it through Flubit I have so far managed to get it down to £20.66 (14% off), very tempting at that price.

Still have the original from 97 no way near worth this price compared to what you could buy, wouldnt pay £5 for it.

They are doing a PS4 version.

Thanks, I like the Xbox One but I think I would have a slight preference for it on PS4 just in case they implement some PS4 Pro enhancements either on release or down the road and usually on multiplats the PS4 version is at least as good as Xbox One so nothing to lose going with the PS4 one for PS4 owners...
Me too, PS4 version for £20.40 with Flubit, bargain, only negative is they take payment straight away but can live with that for nearly £4 off, and for all I know Argos might take payment upfront too as I've never pre-ordered with them before...

Even odder, if you look it up on the Playstation Store it has an entry (but no price) and says it was released on 8/2015, guessing that was the first date they were hoping to make...

What's Flubit?

see http://www.flubit.com they make you offers of up to 15% off the standard retail price when you input the link you found it at. The basic (free) version only works with amazon products and takes several hours to generate an offer but the paid elite version (30 day free trial) works with a bigger pool of popular retailers and can give you near instant offers. I'm on flubit elite hence me being able to get an offer on this.
Some caveats: They take payment immediately for everything, even preorders, there are some categories like health & fashion and digital goods they will flat out reject, they can be slow to deliver (but can be fast too) and can cancel orders (they always cite lack of stock but sometimes I think they make an offer that would cost them too much to honour) but that aside you can save £100+ over the course of a year or so depending how much you buy...
One could consider it like upfront cashback, though that said TCB even offer cashback for using flubit, albeit not much.

Website now saying release date 28/02/17. Delayed again it seems, sure it was supposed to be the end of Jan when I ordered
yep now Feb, confirmed on their FB feed :disappointed:

To be fair I'm not sure if it was ever stated as 31st Jan, I think that may have been the date they give out the free codes for the original as mentioned here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/constructor-original-pc-free-facebook-like-follow-official-page-2590770? and people might have mixed the two things up. In any event the February date would make sense, get people hooked on the nostalgia factor of the original then unleash the new remastered one to the biggest possible audience (as those that enjoy the original will likely pick it up).
In two minds whether to keep my flubit pre-order now though as that is a good month and a half to wait without the money (flubit take payment upfront). Provided the Argos price holds, which it should since it isn't marked as a special offer or anything, I could always make a new demand closer to the actual release date....

Constructor said; "Order it from Game. I assume you ordered it from Argos that put the wrong RRP up. They have now taken that down."

Me too. Voicemail saying game is no longer available and money will be refunded

Argos cancelled also. Apparently the price they were selling for was less than they were paying from supplier, therefore they were due to make a loss hence the cancellations.
Seems System 3 are pushing the Game pre order, presume they have struck a deal.

However their Facebook page is very active; as I discovered through http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/constructor-original-pc-free-facebook-like-follow-official-page-2590770 so hears hoping it gets released this time.
