Did anyone actually get their free copy? I totally forgot about it, having found this thread and liked their Facebook page a month ago, but it did say 'you will be contacted', which I wasn't, and I had the impression that it would be an individual code for each person who had liked the page before then. Instead it looks like it was one code for everyone, which you didn't even need because it was just free on GoG anyway. So it was just a way to get Facebook likes (not that I should be surprised by that).
BUT - the good news is it looks like they will be giving out another code for people who missed it the first time around (going by the last post on their Facebook page), so stay tuned for that.
UPDATE - New code was just posted on their Facebook page. Go to gog.com/redeem and enter ZVSYRAFB. It says it's valid for 48 hours and was posted about one hour ago, so should be good until about 3pm on Saturday 4th February.

This is so weird... I was just thinking about this the other day, remembering when I got it on the Playstation and played it for a few hours before realising that it required AN ENTIRE MEMORY CARD(!) to save my game, so I had to give up all my progress and go out and buy a new memory card. Then I started wondering why it wasn't available to buy digitally and thinking a HD remaster would be great (turns out I was a bit behind on the news there) so this is great news!
It isn't on GoG anymore - it was removed from the store in September 2014 due to the rights changing hands and hasn't returned yet. So it could be that it's returning to GoG on January 31st, or it could be getting a Steam release, or maybe we're just getting a DRM-free copy straight from the developer.

Loved the original on PC.

Pretty sure it won't be as the game isn't even listed on Steam. It is on GOG so could be a key for that but for free I suspect all we can expect is a basic download of the games files...

Yeah, it has been on the way for years now, I suspect development troubles or just them struggling with creating a good homage to the original. Remakes and remasters are difficult especially for popular titles as no matter how good (or not) it turns out you can guarantee it won't suit some fans.
That said I'd be pretty happy with the core gameplay as is and just pretty much bring the graphics and interface up to date. It's still a very original game, they don't need to do anything dramatic to it, just a good modernisation...
