No one has to buy from Costco if you have membership then fair enough it's normal price there plus you get 2% cash back end of year so if you spend enough you will get your membership fee back . My cash back this year was £190 my executive membership was £60 I added on 5 friends at £14 each and I get 2% of what they spend too . So it's win win for me lol

You don't necessarily need to pay to join costco either. Just know somebody who is a member.
I'm a member and I often pick up deals for others or take them along as guests.
