Not to spam the site with deals, but this time of the year they do become very common. This is, I think, better than the last deal I posted and the Felt Z85.
The frame is the same as the model above (used by professionals) but the parts are one category down. Questionable as to whether you need this but if you are spending this kind of money, why not. If you are a higher rate taxpayer and go through cycle to work scheme, this will cost you less than £350, making it an even better deal than this already is!
Rated 10/10 by Cycling Weekly (Group Test Winner April 2016): "Pound for pound the B'Twin Ultra 700 AF leaves the competition standing."
Sizes are XS, S or XL unfortunately (which fits my purpose) but may not fit everyone.
PS - previously posted at £600 pre-christmas.

is it your first road bike? if not, what do you currently have? what is your budget? what do you want from a bike? commuting? fitness? racing?
i'm sure i'll be able to put you off given the answers to those :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha think people would struggle to find flews other than the price point when compared to a starter road bike for £300 ish.

I have a Decathlon / B'TWIN MTB (another HUKD buy!) and its great, far better sec than similar price point "brands", frame comes with lifetime guarantee which I assume is the same for their thinner tyred offerings also?

A quality alu frame with carbon fork and 105 at just over 500 pounds is a steal. Voted hot. Now if they reduced the 540 flatbar...

I would prefer a cyclo cross as I commute on tow paths. What do you reckon would be the widest wheels this could handle? Hot BTW

Don't use cycle to work, it's a con as you have to pay off more than expected at the end of the year!!!

8.9kg for £550 , can't argue with that for value especially with 105. Like the look of the Frame too. Great winter bike or ideal for someone new to sport

Looks like a great bike for the money - down from the original £750, 105 groupset at this price makes it a real deal, shame they've only put a R500 crankset on, but that's still decent. Wheels look fine too. A much better option than some of the cheap carbon frames with low level groupsets and dodgy wheels we've seen lately, in my opinion.
Looks a great price was expecting 10 speed 105 (i.e. Old components) buts it's the 11 speed variant, looking at £330-350 alone for the groupset.

I bought the Btwin 540 a few months back for £500. Best bike I personally have ever owned. This model for £50 more is a no brainer.

They mean the "cycle to work scheme"
Not that cycling to work all year will lead to people chasing you down the street demanding money (well it could, depending on your line of work)
And it may be because the employer can set the price they'll sell the bike to you for at the end of the term? I can't remember, ages since I looked into it.

Haha i figured as much but it's a cracking idea (cycle to work scheme not cycling to work in general). You get a tax back so atleast 20% benefit. Yes there is a charge at the end of the term (of c.3%) and some retailers want an additional 10% to cost which means your benefit is lower, but it's still less than sticker price... so don't understand the downside?

Plus it's an interest free loan from work...

Oh I agree.
The terms always seemed up front about costs, what would happen and when and a rough percentage, and no one should end up worse off in anyway really.
Only off putting thing use to be which retailers would be available to use.

And the number of schemes - some retailers only offer certain schemes. And you need to get the voucher before you can start shopping but can't use it on deals here.

I have bought 2 Btwin bikes on the cyclescheme (Triban 520 & Mach 720). Both great bikes. It's a great scheme & the savings are even better than advertised as it also lowers your NI & your student loan deductions due to it being done using salary sacrifice!
As for this deal, excellent value. I have all the same wheels/components on my Mach & they are great. I personally prefer the look of the RS500 chainset to the 105 I have on my Canyon (and you can find the RS500 chainset on some seriously expensive bikes like this one...)

Was tempted at £599 so this price is excellent.
I own their Triban 3 which is still doing fine (upgraded wheels and other bits) but I think I could do with a completely new bike as I'm starting to notice the limitations or the Triban 3. My only concern is do I think this is enough of an upgrade? £550 just seems a ridiculous bargain and is perfect for my needs (mainly club runs / other road rides of 60-100km).
