just brought a set, 45 quid I think, it does last along time though. would never use an ink jet again as got fed up with it clogging, mine did go wrong, brother sent out an engineer and fixed it on site next day

Could you rephrase that in a way that makes even less sense?

Ordered one of these when the price went up to £134.37, but used the £10 voucher they had at the time to bring it down to slightly less than this price. Bloody brilliant printer, so easy to use and install. And the AirPrint is an added bonus.
Thanks OP, for pointing me in the direction of this excellent printer.

Flubit returns a offer with £7 savings.
I consider also Brother MFC-L8650CDW A4 Colour Laser Multifunction Printer £100 cash back making it around £180 but is big and heavy...

Could not agree, will never return to troublesome ink jets and ridiculously priced cartridges again.

Great printer, easy to maintain, easy to reset toner cartridges, compatible toner carts available at reasonable price.

Very good printer, and toners are reasonable.... not that I am near finishing my first set.

I got one of these for about £70 many months back, lovely printer. Easy to manage over the network, 'just works' with all the windows machines in the house, got Google cloud print set up for the few things that don't work. Just a shame it isn't as cheap as it was.

See previous HL-L8250CDN threads. I've had two, super cheap at £44 or so when the cashback is on, which looks no longer likely to be honest.
1st one, the fuser unit went (same with another user). Its fixable, but should not happen at only 12,000 prints. I reset and refilled a few times with no issues, although funnily enough I had two toners leak within the printer causing problems (they were manufacturers toners, and not refilled, but reset a couple of times)
I had to buy a £12.50 black toner on Ebay, and after about 1500 pages it's doing ok. They have the reset gear wheel on them, so an alternative to refilling if you just want to reset your starter cartridges then you could buy a set of these and use the gears until you've reset too many times, then move onto the cheap compatibles.
@ £125 I'm unsure whether a hot deal, as I'm blinded by the previous cheap price :-) If you think of it as a good quality small office laser with 10,000+ prints for £125 (+£50 toners) then I suppose it still is cheap.

As above, on my colour laser printer (Dell) I'm still on my original toners, the printer is now over 7 years old. I could probably do with getting a new black toner cartridge soon, but even so, the cost per annum is tiny vs what I spent on ink jets!

cheap refills. relatively easy to do mechanical gear setup, no chips to deal with
Still on original colours after 'reseting' the pin wheel on the factory toner cartridge.
Although toner is expensive, price per page is quite low as you can get 1000s of pages per toner cartridge.
