Saw the post on rugs and ordered a couple... Then wandered off to curtains and saw some more fab prices.
Got 3 kids so I'm getting ready for the lighter nights now and getting some of these.
Colourmatch and Twilight collections heavily reduced. Way below half price.

argos has the option to email the receipt to you; some stores do this and its quite useful in such situations and warranty claims too.

No good for me... taking my 2 pairs back too, they feel strange, the stitching isn't good, the packaging is cheap looking. Didn't look good at all, or hang well. Argos have inflated original prices too

How did you get on returning them? My store refused as the packaging had been opened a D in their opinion were not "re-saleable". Pretty annoyed to be honest but for a tenner I couldn't be bothered to argue. Husband said he might go back and try himself next time he's passing x

The ones that I have got have gone up £3.99 since I bought them. I've been given two sets of curtains in two different types of packaging (apparently, they have changed the packaging). I'm not too sure if the curtains in the new packaging are exactly the same - same depth of dye used, etc. Has anybody bought two sets for the same window and been given different packaging - just wondering if there is a slight difference in shade/length, etc? Thank you.

Noticed the deal at 7:33pm, ordered at 7:39pm, picked up from local Argos at 7.50pm, got back home at 8.00pm and put these on at 8.03pm! 30 minutes from the deal to putting them on the rail, they look great, many thanks OP!

I ordered some for my ordered some for my son's room, collected them yesterday. they're quite 'shiny' which isn't apparent from the photo, and lots of crackling from the polyester content! they weren't my thing, so am sending back. great price though, especially for big windows!

At this price, I wasn't expecting the quality to be that great and to be honest, I was sceptical about the blackout claim, but having bought a pair, I've been impressed enough to order another set. Bargain!

usual instore goose chase. 1 or 2 left around for everyone to run after.
i got no problem with wild goose chases, so long as that's what people realise they are doing and voting hot on.
i just dislike this misrepresentation tactic argos have. showing items as in stock when not. discounting when clearance levels, but presenting it as being available everywhere.

Well speaking for myself I got some in different sizes, my 2 daughters got a total of 8 pairs and a friend got 3 pairs, so were certainly plenty available in 4 argos's close to me, as all were showing in stock except 1 pair at all branches I checked.

no stock left in my local stores yesterday - but now back in stock at higher price
I will click expire so you can change price
I've just picked up two pairs of the black unlined ones - reduced to £9 a pair from £29.99. When I collected them from Argos, they were presented in two different types of packing - I asked the woman who served me if they were identical curtains and was told that the colour looks the same but that they have just changed to a new type of packaging. I have not opened them, but am wondering that if they have changed the packaging, they have slightly adjusted the intensity of the black dye used - also the curtains are an approximate size and perhaps they have made them a couple of millimeters shorter/longer now, etc? I'm just thinking that when you buy wallpaper, they always say to get it all from the same batch number - the catalogue numbers on the packaging are the same, but there is a POS number on each packet and they are different? I don't know whether to take them back to see if I can get the same packaging on both, or else just leave it and hope that when put up they do look identical?

If you want the curtains to have a nice 'gather' (folds) then you will need the width to be up to double your curtain width (you can sometimes get away with an extra half width). Matching the width exactly will mean it won't close properly, and on the pencil ones it will look like a bed sheet at your window (flat)! So whatever your window/overall width size is, use this to determine what size curtain you need from the sizes given on the site (which are per curtain, therefore you're doubling up). Obviously don't do this with your drop.
The drop will also depend on whether you go for the eyelets or pencil, as pencil will hang almost directly under the pole (some adjustment possible with the small 'pockets' on the curtain), and the eyelet (metal ring in curtain) will measure from the top of ring/pole with no room for adjustment.
Use your window width for the actual width of each curtain, as you are doubling up this way. So get the size closest to 143cm and you will have a nice gather to it. Drop you will have to figure out yourself what works best with whats available
As above, get the closest to 115cm. Each of your curtains will actually only be about 57cm, but your doubling up so it will gather nicely once up.
3ft x 6.5ft is 91.5cm x 198.1cm, if this is per curtain you will need a curtain at least 137.5cm wide, preferably 180cm!

I wouldn't use iron-on tape without making a few token hold stitches as well, turn ups don't get dragged around in the same way curtains do.
There is probably a seamstress in your area who won't charge much to run a line of stitch.

I have 3 windows side-by-side in my sitting room - each window is 90 cm (width) and 138 cm (height). I usually spread out 4 curtains on the rail - each of my current curtains is 120 cm (width) and 180 cm (height). The only problem that I find is that I have to place 3 ends of the curtains up on the window ledges as there is furniture up close to the wall below the windows. I've just realised that I can't get a shorter curtain length to fit my windows, so am just wondering if anybody has had any success with cutting a longer size of these curtains down to size (just wondering if they would fray badly). I don't have a sewing machine so was looking at perhaps using that iron-on tape that you can get to take up hems, etc? Thank you.

8 Jan 17#43
3 from is about 90cm and 6 feet is about. 180cm. If that's your window size you'd need 137cm drop/length curtain and the 117cm width (as that is the width of each curtain- so you'd get a span of almost 235cm which should be fine. Guess I'm. Saying you need 137cm by 117cm. Unless you want your curtains to the floor in which case you'd want to longer than a 137cm drop. X
