Received the vacuum, tried it useless as one, repacking and returning.

Not any more anyway, only if you're Amazon Vine, which is kind of OK as you need to review tons of stuff (having paid full price before they let you into the program). The days of cheap phone cases and other stuff having biased reviews is over.

Back to the PAD1200 vacuum cleaner, I got one and returned it. Looked great but it was the most anemic thing ever, I took a video - couldn't even pick up a piece of fluff off a car mat. Not to blow my own trumpet but I have the highest-rated critical review on there and can tell you that having paid full-price for it, I wished I'd never bothered. I ended up replacing it with a much more expensive Dyson DC34 and didn't resent paying 5 times the price as it is infinitely better. I guess if you have lots of small loose bits in the car it's ok but for anything worse (e.g. sticky stuff with a bit of cling like fluff) don't even bother. My only advice to you is to buy it from Amazon direct only, knowing you can return it without expense when you see how poor it is.

To save you having to find the review, here is what I was trying to suck up - not exactly substantial is it!

Wow, I didn't think Amazon wouldve paid for reviews, abit low, on the other hand, I it but loads of stuff from Amazon, never got offered anything for free

I believe it's mostly Amazon, but others do that too. Alternatively, there are people out there who make a living off reviewing new products.

I have owned this for a year, its great!! However, i sold it recently for £20 on gumtree as i bought a cordless dyson.

This hoover is fine for light to medium dirt in your car or for a monthly clean

So who exactly "pays" or gives the free product? Amazon themselves? Or other sellers?

He is referring to the reviews for lightning deal products; review for items sold on Amazon are often paid for with free products or heavy discounts in exchange for the reviewers "unbiased" opinions :smirk:

How do lightning deals be paid for? Just curious, I thought a lot of them are sold by Amazon.

I disagree - I take all the back seats (6) out the back of the Galaxy and in I go with the dyson fully upright! (Admittedly not the front)

I just filtered the results to show newest first and there are a succession of poor reviews. Order cancelled.

Was going to buy but I've already bought the Bosch BCH61840GB DOTD on Amazon and figure I can use that in the car.
