Rio Park is a half decent hotel for a couple of reasons. Firstly the entertainment is great, and the animation team, kids clubs etc are also good (kids club is free, unlike some hotels which charge). Our kids loved it. Although I am not sure if this is all year round. Secondly, it's pool bar sells cheap beer and snacks which are about as cheap as you would get from the cheapest bars outside the hotel, so there is no need to leave if all you want is a cheap beer or cheap pizza/fries/chicken.
Bad points, the inclusive food is not the best and gets a bit boring and same after 4 or 5 days. The rooms are a bit tired and in need of decoration. The free wifi is painfully slow, and the paid for wifi is not much better. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach. The pool was coldish in August, so it will be freezing his time of year even without the snow.
We went in 2014 and enjoyed it so much we went back the next year, and like the TV show, we met quite a few families from the previous year, but twice was definitely enough!

On holiday in Benidorm at the moment. Weather terrible thunder and lightning all last night it was like living in a battle of cannons. Constant wind and rain and set to continue until at least next week and possibly beyond.

yeah I was driving down to Alicante airport last night and there was some lovely lightning. I got out just in time as my town had nearly a foot of snow in places.

How long do you spend in your hotel? Guess this is full board but for me it's usually just a bed.

You have to bear in mind though that people are giving four stars based on the fact that it is a 2 star....so probably just better than they expected a 2 star to be! Meaning a very good 2* hotel. Not the equivalent of a 4 star

Hmm, don't believe the Weather girl. I was there over Christmas many years ago (30 or so) with my family and it snowed then. The locals were amazed to see snow! Everything was shut on 25th and we lived out of tins that day

Wow, must be a great hotel to get 4* Trip Advisor reviews, not even some 4 star hotels get that. I trust the people.

Something to bear in mind Weather hadn't been good in Benidorm for last couple of weeks and dont seem to get much better in next week or so. Costa del Sole is cold when sun is not out as there is a cold wind.
A few days ago I checked and it was 19 degrees. Looks a bit crappy for the next few days but seems to get better. Not fussed about the weather anyway, I'll be glad to get away from working, cleaning and cooking for a week at that price!
