Great tablet. If you don't want IOS then probably the best ipad alternative currently. Bargain.

More so than that of the £200 odd (or less) Linx 12.2" and Linx 10.2" Windows 10 Tablet's currently still out there? (both of which are rocking 4GB RAM also, and 64GB eMMC, as opposed to 32GB eMMC).

Picked one up this week, typically it was more expensive at £259.99 at PC World. Nice tablet, very pleased with it.

I got one too, very nice and I come from a Nexus 9. Only issue is the USB c port so having to get a new spare charger and stuff but that port is the new standard anyway.

Does this feel a big upgrade from the Nexus, I've got one myself and was thinking about getting this to replace it

With a 2k screen, whats battery life like?
abhijitdash123 to KhanRuss

Its around 8 hrs 20 min of continuous video playback, compared to 8 hours 40 min on the ipad pro as a comparison.

I get at least around 6hours of screen on time. Mainly because I have to increase brightness because it is so damn reflective. Hoping the mat screen protector I got will help with this.
As for software updates, it currently does what I need it to do browse and play media. As soon as this is not possible I'll upgrade but for £220 this wasn't bad.

Edit: Nevermind, seems that Asus are **** when it comes to updating their tablets so there's no chance of this getting Android 7.0 which has a bunch of massive improvements. Might as well pay more for something that's actually supported by the company

I have a 16gb nexus 9 .
It has less than 10 apps on it and about 100 pics.
It doesn't have space to download android 7.
Pathetic really. At least the Asus is expandable

It depends what you want this for? graphics performance is pretty bad compared to the nexus 9 not really for high end gaming, apps to sd do not work :disappointed: poor battery life, but does have 4gb ram and a decent screen

That's what I'm planning on doing, going to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and see how it compares to the Pixel C as they're both in the same price point. The S2 is just slightly cheaper now since it's so old, but stock is hard to find

I think anything would be an improvement over that POS, mines had to be repaired 3 times before I finally used my credit card warranty to get a full refund after Curry's fobbed me off after 12 months past. It doesn't have the GPU chops of the N9, but the processor shouldn't suffer from the poor support in android for 64bit and it's not short of RAM so it will likely run faster on day to day stuff and crash a lot less. On the flip side it's a lot cheaper than the N9 or the C so the gaming performance isn't that big a deal.
That being said I would never buy another thing from Curry's after the crap they put me through with the N9.

Bought one from Swindon. What a headache. Reserved. Took 15 mins to pay because they had to find a salesman to try and sell us everything we didn't want or need. Let's hope they send a mail asking how they did...

I still remember the Comet store some time back. Whenever i went there they would try to sell me the world while i had the least interest in buying what they wanted
I think Currys and PC World also employ the same people, so just best to order it online than going to store.

Glitches? Got mine loaded with a load of apps and had none so far. Might be a particular app. I use mine in the house and no problems with reflections. Impressed so far.

Why Win 10? Its a dying OS now. With Android and iOS it will not gain developer support for apps.

ROTFL. Show me the equivalent of FCP or Premiere on Android. Android is hideous for any serious work and simply does not scale.

They don't have it. I was looking for a similar device spec but 8-8.4" screen size but unfortunately nothing at that price range, only Huawei Mediapad M3 but it can't be bought in the UK only found it in US or China.

Any of you guys experience issues with the tablet, when powering off it stays stuck on power off pop up and just stays like that till battery dies, second the WiFi stops working and it won't connect to any WiFi again, the switch airplane mode works sometimes other times restarting it a few times, and I mean force shutdown will get WiFi back.
It's almost unusable like this, the closest example to this software would be like running a first build of a custom ROM.

so experiencing issues, lots of locks and tablet won't switch off or restart, factory reset hasn't helped either. decided it's time to take it back. I'll lose money on the accessories but can't keep a non working tablet.

8 Feb 17#48
I figured out what the issue is, it is to do with the MicroSD card slot, if the systems is writing to it this task can get stuck.
If it gets stop it stops all other processes, doesn't matter how fast MicroSD it is, it happens. It has to be big files or small files but hundreds of them.
Will try and raise an issue with Asus on this.

Do you have any instances of this coz i used to have a ASUS tablet some time back and never had any problems with the service. I think I also had a Nexus as well which was repaired through John Lewis and ASUS

Not had many problems with customer service, but ASUS certainly gave me some. I had problems with software that came with a computer and contacted them to find out how I could sort it. They asked me if the software In question was in the product description when purchasing  I told them no and he went to check with someone else, came back and told me unless it was in the sale description, there was nothing he could do, then he said as we had to leave the discussion now, as it was nearing 10 minutes of discussion(He was gone for like 7) and then said goodbye
Contacted someone else and they told me the software has never been put on their systems (Software that costs about £60 to purchase elsewhere) I checked around, they have.

I should've been more clear about what type of support i was referring too, not had to deal with client support or client services, I'm talking about raising a bug with their technical support, all it leads to is some dead end email which you get a automated response and nothing else. Plus their forums don't even list half their products, so you cannot raise any issues there.
I've dealt with Asus before regarding my Original Nexus 7 tablet, when it came to that customer service initiated a RMA quickly for me and swapped out pretty quick back then only took them 2 weeks.
