Just been looking at AO and they have 10% off some windows laptops and you can add the "get40" code on top which brings this Asus ROG laptop down from £755 to £643.50

Wouldn't 16gb ram & GTX 960m 4gb be better?

But would it be a little difference or a big one on gaming eg GTA 5 etc...?

Are these specs wrong as it's listed with a i5 6300HQ & IPS on the Asus site? So possibly better than listed? Very tempted at this myself, been looking for a good deal all over Christmas

I believe it is the 6300hq as that's the spec on currys site for the same laptop

Awesome, very good specs, best deal I've seen for anything this price and just a touch over my budget! Think you've just put me 643 quid out of pocket mate  great deal! Can anyone find better or know of any cash back options for this is possible? <3 pouring through benchmarks for this right now :man:

It will be better but a laptop with 960m may cost £200 more than this

Ahhhhh but all of you are looking at 'NEW' all I'm gonna say is consider refurbished or similar as that's what I did and after your replay I think it was a good deal  (different brand)

Im not a fan of refurbished on laptops, you never know whos been messing with the internals or if it has some water damage that may only show up in 6 months after buying it, you can save a couple hundered pounds but its always a gamble.
There is an MSI gaming laptop on AO for £950 (after code and discount) and that has a gtx 970m, and a core i7 6700hq http://ao.com/product/9s716h712271-msi-gs60-6qeghost-pro271uk-laptop-black-43175-251.aspx
depends on what you want it for, if you plan to do serious gaming then you probably need the gtx 970m if its more casual then you can easily get by with the 950m/960m

I see you have already mentioned your "Deal" within the ("Misc" thread that later became an "Ask") thread below:
At comment #5, I point to the product page at Amazon (UK); "Price: £749.97".

I liked your Acer deal jayd95, but £643 for a 950m based lappy just isn't a good deal.

I see what you mean, it's not what I would go for as I game on the desktop but there aren't many laptops with a good dedicated graphics card under £700 these days :-/

You just have to keep your eyes peeled.... I bought an i5/860m (more powerful than the 950m) just over a year ago for £470. There was also that i5/950m deal a few weeks ago for £549.
Personally, there is no way I would buy a 9XX GPU at the present time (unless it was a give away price) as the 10XX class chips are just a huge step forwards in terms of performance (the benches for the 1070 are pretty incredible) and prices will drop come the Spring / Summer.

Derp, isn't that the same case with all gens, like the jump from 8 to 9 series.
