probably more often than older laptops did because modern ones are built as a commodity, to a cost. Older ones were more likely to get a premium price so the was more margin to build to a better quality standard. Just my opinion.

Would I be right in thinking that the Battery will have cooked or at least compromised, having been plugged in for the last 6 months or more on a display unit.
And if memory server me the battery fixed in this model which has to go back to be replaced. Shame thought :disappointed:

3 months warranty shows a lack of confidence in the product. That's my opinion.

Have you been, have you seen ? do you trust them and PCworld display their laptop ON cabinate
Have you been, have you seen ? It does not say "IN a cabinet" do you trust them and PCworld display their laptop ON cabinets as do many others. The term might just mean it's not displayed in a shop window.

For Ex-display read sat on shelf powered on all day while children hammer the keys and rub their grubby hands all over the screen. Wouldn't touch one with a barge poll.

I see your point but as he states it was a cabinet display so would that not mean it's in a display cabinet and not necessarily in the open for kids to hammer away on it?....

3 month warranty doesn't give much "peace of mind", but i think that's one hell of a spec for the money.
