My brush doesn't weigh 2kg. I assume these are handweights? I don't really know what they are but the price reduction made me post, maybe helpful to someone who knows what they are and wants to buy them?

bag of sugar is 1kg or 2.2 lbs. most experts recommend starting at 8 kg to be of any benefit.

20 Jan 17#22
At 2kg as per a comment above this is 'hand weight' weight (if that makes sense)! For that reason you would be better of buying something with a different shape for adding load to cardio workouts. These are maybe too light for kettlebell swings etc?
Lol
Theres about £25 of MI fittings there and thats not including the weights.

"most experts recommend" sorry but I don't agree with that.
Good experts will tailor weight to the specific exercise being performed and the person doing the exercise. There's no shame working with low weights if that is the right weight for the job. There are all kinds of people lifting weights - young, very old, mega fit people, people with chronic injuries and so on.
It's better to start with a weight that is too light rather than risking injury with something that's too heavy. Having said that, if you don't get the right weight to push yourself, your not going to see any results and you will probably just waste time flapping your arms about before quitting from boredom or lack of results.

20 Jan 17#33
These are too big (not heavy) aldi ones are better, 2kg/4kg £4.99, 6kg/8kg £8.99, 12kg £12.99 if your store still has them. Similar ones available in B&M 3kg £3.99, 6kg £9.99. Or Home Bargains have some too but not sure on prices.

I use these and do hundreds of reps to keep fit and good cardio 8kg is not a good starting weight.
Edged
21 Jan 17#41
you can't confirm anything, no two people are the same I use to bench 350 lbs now I use 2kg weight and hundreds of reps and feel way better and burn way more cals, just hold your arms out straight and do 50 small circles and feel the burn.
abhijitdash123

A good starting weight for men is around 12 pounds atleast for the unfit person, so these are absolute waste of time and money.

I'd question any expert who reccomended starting at 8kg. It depends entirely what excersise you're doing, how many reps and ofcourse you're strength and fitness. There's tons of kettlebell routines that very few people could manage with 8kg.

I literally hold my arms fully extended out for 10 seconds (sometimes I push myself more lol) and you can feel the burn. I also extend my arms fully out and bend them in towards my chest. I also hold them by the sides of my body when doing lunges and I also hold them with both hands in between my legs while doing squats. YouTube has some fab videos to support

These are very good! I recently started working out and my arms are soooo weak!! So these are perfect! I also bought the 4kg davina ones and the 6kg ones. I hold my arms fully out for 10 seconds and I can feel the burn! Also I use the 4kg ones when I do lunges.

Alright then, a can of haggis... now that's pretty stodgy stuff. If you have a supermarket about 30 mins walk away, it's a great workout; walk there 30 mins; load up with beans and haggis - 2 carrier bags and an optional rucksack for more advanced urban athletes; 30 mins walk back. Workout combined with shopping, so it's a time saver too.
