Having dropped my 5s in the pool on holiday I'm tempted but I do hope they come up with a waterproof smaller form factor; can't convince myself I can live with a bigger phone.

1 left and extremely tempting. Especially as they also accept PayPal...I've not applied yet but PayPal credit gives you 0% over 4 months

Worth confirming, but previously any iPhone sold by anyone other than the Apple Store will lock to the first sim.

ended up buying the O2 locked Grade A for £455 delivered (£5.75 TCB). I assume my Voda SIM will work in there.
Hope I get decent amount of Apple Warranty
The Unlocked version Grade is £475 delivered.

Now I'm not informed on iPhone unlock methods... But why would you assume a Vodafone SIM would work if it's locked to o2, instead of buying the unlocked one...

A Vodafone sim won't work in an O2 locked phone. O2 will unlock a phone that's on contract for free as soon as the contract starts or a PAYG phone after using it for 60 days.

Traditionally, O2 and Voda use the same signal, or that was the case back in the days of 2G only (you can tell my age now). Worse case scenario, I just stick a friend/Family member's O2 sim in and get O2 to unlock it.
£20 saving is still something, even on a £400 phone.
Buyer's remorse already setting in. I needed to upgrade my current mobile anyway (it's an iPhone 5 and the screen is playing up) and was thinking of jumping for the S7 Edge on O2 refresh next time it's sub £300. After reading the loooong HUKD deal (discussion) on the iPhone SE last night, well it seems Apple have me hooked too. Enough to pay half a grand!
I think the PayPal credit swung it for me and the fact I have about £360 in my TCB ready to pay out. I'll likely keep this phone for a few years (that's me trying to convince myself I made the right decision)

Think you are going to find you will need an o2 sim typivally only their or their other providers will work :disappointed:

A bit poo that is. The 3G Bands for both operators are the same, but it seems the software recognises the SIM operator. What happened to good old GSM900 and GSM1800 with paired operators. I remember Nokia would have separate model numbers for effectively the same mobile dependent on what the frequency it was on. I think Nokia 402 vs 5110 and 702 vs 6110 for example.
You never got models that could possibly work across all 4 networks (Orange, One2One, Vodafone & BT Cellnet). I suppose you do get them now, downside is they just need to be unlocked in some cases.

Yeah for quite a while now they are locked to each individual network. If I remember correctly, phones locked to Three are the best because they will unlock it for free. Personally it's not worth the hassle so I just cough up the extra and eat less Subway for a couple weeks.

don't worry I will buy it off you for £250  seriously try and cancel it or refuse delivery and get your money back

vodafone and O2 use the same frequencies but phones that are simlocked to one network will not work on another. O2 will unlock the phone but only after its been used for 60 days with a Contract or PAYG SIM. They only unlock straight away if its a phone they have supplied on Contract.
Generally iPhones supplied by networks are locked to that network. phones sold by Apple and John Lewis are truly unlocked, and phones sold by others (Argos, carphone warehouse etc) lock to the first sim that's used. Three no longer use a network lock, so if the first sim that's inserted is a 3 sim it will 'lock' to three meaning it is unlocked.

I'm sure the terms on the O2 website say the will inlock a payg only after 1 year and for a fee.

if you have a contract with them they will unlock for free, if you have a payg they will unlock for £15 done both in past few months, the contract was a refresh one, unlocked within the first day of having the phone. Don't know how it works if you buy a phone that were not supplied by them but experience from other companies you have to be a customer for months sometimes a year.

60 day warranty is a bit iffy - especially if you're not buying one of their 'brand new' phones.

Got my iPhone today. Grade A is exceptionally good. Can't tell it's been used. Not sure how they get hold of these phone but it appears to have only been registered on 5th January 2017. Less than 10 days ago.
Dissapointingly, you only get the iPhone and sim card tray insert/eject tool. No Lightning cable (which I was aware of), but also no original box or power plug (I should've read description carefully).
Whilst I'm delighted with condition of phone and the fact I've got pretty much full warranty, I'm pretty miffed that at £450 you don't get the original box, this helps value retention.
I know you can buy original box etc online but a) additional £10-£15 b) it won't have the original IMEI/Serial number sticker on it. Considering returning it.

It's nice when refurbished stuff comes back like that, odd to be in such great quality with no box though.
Carrier locking as always worked via imei not signal as far as I recall though, even back in 2g. Might be wrong and was signal, but I'm fairly sure not. Ever since phones like the nokia snake ones etc. Unsure if my older Ericsons or Sony was locked, as I just used whatever SIM my parents gave me ... But that was 18 years ago now heh.
Some carriers did share a DB though if I recall.
