Are you having trouble falling asleep? Are your kids hyperactive when playing with the tablet before bed time?
Are you using your smart phone or tablet in the late evening? Twilight may be a solution for you!
Recent research suggests that exposure to blue light before sleep may distort your natural (circadian) rhythm and cause inability to fall asleep.
The cause is the photoreceptor in your eyes, called Melanopsin. This receptor is sensitive to a narrow band of blue light in the 460-480nm range which may suppress Melatonin production - a hormone responsible for your healthy sleep-wake cycles.
In experimental scientific studies it has been shown an average person reading on a tablet or smart phone for a couple of hours before bed time may find their sleep delayed by about an hour.
The Twilight app makes your device screen adapt to the time of the day. It filters the blue spectrum on your phone or tablet after sunset and protects your eyes with a soft and pleasant red filter. The filter intensity is smoothly adjusted to the sun cycle based on your local sunset and sunrise times.

I've used this on several phones but it has a nasty habit of completely locking the screen due to a bug.
When it works, it's probably a useful app, but I've had too many issues with it.

You can hit pause to overcome the overlay issues from the pull down notification area, the overlay issues were driving me nuts until I noticed that pausing the app fixed the permission problems.

Same here. Every time something strange happened with my phone, whether I couldn't click to install an app or change a setting with something else, it was because of this app. I agree that it does what it says it's going to do (in terms of changing the screen, I can't comment on whether this improved my health/sleep), but it isn't seamless enough to not be annoying for me. I kept it on my old phone for a year or so but after getting a new phone and reviewing which apps to install, I didn't install it again.

This looks awesome. How would it compare to say F.lux? My OnePlus has a Night Mode but you can't schedule it.

If you're rooted, you can use Tasker on your OnePlus and have night mode activated on a timer. If you prefer the red hue added by Twilight to the yellow hue from Night Mode's reduced blue light, then this is perfect.

I'm not against the idea of this and think it'll work for some people, however at a software level it caused permission issues with my other apps so I had to get rid of it.
Good value at 10p though.

Thirding this. It generates an overlay, so anything you're doing on your phone is through Twilight. Obviously this poses a massive security risk and some applications won't play ball if it detects any overlay. Twilight is a secure application and there's nothing untoward going on with it, but it's easier for other developers to use a blanket ban on overlays.

Yet another one who's had it and got rid - the issues I was having with the overlays meant it wasn't worth keeping.

30 Jan 171#18
that's because its a security feature installed into the OS, it stops stuff being installed that you don't want to be installed, essentially the android OS will say no your not allowed to install thins unless the user says so and because there's a red overlay on top of everything else android thinks hey there could be something limiting the users options so just in case it makes the user disable screen overlays when installing things
its the same case with FB messenger bubbles and or Google translate bubbles occasionally

There's a free version of this too, install it and see what you think.
If you have a rooted phone it's much better to go for something like CF Lumen. Twilight (and other apps that don't require root) simply use an overlay, which means the darkness of blacks gets noticeably reduced. Apps with root usually go deeper than that, so other colours aren't affected.

It just doesn't really do anything. Yes, it changes the tint of the screen - but it's odd, and even adjusting it I never got comfortable with it. If the app wasn't 10p then the app would pan - it's just the, "what's 10p, eh?" crowd that keep it going (me included last time.)

If you work a lot in the front of the computer (non graphic work) so many hours in the evening/night, then you will see a big difference. Exactly - your eyes will be less tired.
First two, three days will be very unusual, but if you go through that period you will be (probably) thankful for installing that.
I don't know about Twilight Pro, but it's probably the same.
