Which clarks gore tex ones are only slightly more than £35?

6 months? So double the length of time you said earlier then? You're making it up as you go along :laughing:

12 Jan 17#32
Well in my only experience they fall to bits after 6 months, whereas the Clarks gore-tex are still going strong a year later and are much more waterproof and cost very little more..... Go ahead fill your boots but don't try to pretend Hi-Tec are much more than cheap tat lol.... And hardly a brand snob stomping around in a pair Clarks.....

Instead of being a brand snob, try looking at the reviews. No, Hi-Tec aren't particularly "known" for their quality but that doesn't mean they aren't waterproof and will only last for one season (as you implied earlier) - that is clearly nonsense.

Yeah because Hi-Tec are well known for their quality.......

There is no waterproof footwear, water resistant yes, but not waterproof.

Wellies?
Very few pairs of trainers stand up to repeated soakings. Probably my best were some merrel moab rovers, could stand in a stream in them. Harder to justify at £75 but I got them for £40 which was a bargain.

Hi-Tec says it all, pay a bit more and get something waterproof that lasts more than one Winter.......

Few people saying they aren't waterproof. I really want some that are though. Anyone any recommendations on waterproof boots that won't break the bank?
The Moneysaving code was great a couple of years ago, check all the frantic posts on here, where you could sometimes add other items for a discount. That's ended now more's the pity. As has the 365 day return period. But my last shopping spree on hi-tec gear was worth it, good enough quality and fit, never needed to return anything. Like people have said, perfectly good for budget buys, even better if you're lucky to get a discount.

I suppose it's worth a punt at this price but after three fails with Hi Tec boots I've now given up on this company as I also have with Karrimor. x1 leather boots that were not waterproof and x2 suede boots (inc x1 replacement sent by Hi Tec) where the soles detach themselves without any warning within 12 months. These boots were never worn in anger although the suede ones where worn constantly (very comfy & reasonably waterproof after being treated). Having said that, I've no experience with these boots and they may be perfectly fine.

In my experience yes. Not top of the range by any means, but one of the better brands if you're on a budget.

Heat from me. Just bought the gunmetal ones. Note that the code appears to be case sensitive. Wouldn't work for me at first as phone changed the JAN bit to Jan and it wouldnt work. Enter as shown and it is fine.
They are also saying that it will be about 10 days for delivery, so I paid an extra £1 for 2-3 days. Orders over £40 are free delivery, so if there is anything else you like the look of, or are getting 2 pairs, then even better.

if they'd been summer ones it may have been easier to jump in!
