I sell a lot of my used games on eBay and even though it's £1 more per game, I always get Royal Mail Signed for
It's a false economy but I was so annoyed the last two instances that buyers claimed not to receive, that I'd prefer to pay extra and not deal with the hassle

This has happened to me twice recently on eBay / PayPal. One was a physical item that I shipped and the second a digital XB1 code that the guy redeemed!

I'm still arguing both cases

I was thinking ebay is covered but still random chance you find someone selling I thought I covered that though :stuck_out_tongue:

Sellers do get screwed over on ebay, but to be fair ebay do state that digital items are not covered.

Yeah its P**s take, its called a charge back the only way to partially protect yourself is to follow the Paypal sellers protection policy then they have to protect your money. But even that is S**t.

Paypal is a joke to be honest only safe way to sell is cash and in person.

I sold an item in June on ebay for a game code and now paypal have got in touch to say buyer has been to his bank said its an unauthorised transaction so he has pulled his money back .. 6 months later its a joke ... paypal basically said i have zero protection and took the money out my paypal balance .. absolutely shocking ... when questioned that the buyer has not even opened a dispute etc paypal said its his legal right and they can not do anything about it as its his bank. I then asked the paypal advisor so what your telling me is i can order something pay via paypal and wait months then go to my bank and say i don't recognise the transaction and take my money back to which she replied yes. :confused:

I was assuming it would be a transaction with some kind of store not a person online, i.e. something with reliability and more payment protection, other than the chance to find a person selling something on ebay or someone trading on HUKD itself, otherwise the comparison could be made that any deal on this site isn't worth it if you once found the same thing cheaper at a car boot sale (still in original packaging unopened, in the cellophane wrap etc)

Its admittedly not a regular kind of price deal, but it does come up if you are prepared to wait, shop around and make use of ebay etc rather than regular stores.

Depends how badly you need it i guess. If you have to have it right now this is ok, but there have been better deals on it and im sure there will again but no i can't suggest one right now sadly...

Weirdly I'd have to agree with both of you (very diplomatic indeed :man:)

When they're Offered on HUKD, they go up for sale at 80% of face value and are snapped up pretty quickly

However, when they are WTB (Want to buy requests) there is a distinct lack of offers coming forward. Even now there are unanswered requests for £50 credit for £40

So if you need it now, it's gonna be tough to get for 20% off. Whereas if you have the foresight (and cash flow) to buy at £40 when it becomes available, good on you

It's grey area to say you "expect" at least £10 off RRP

Pretty much average price for it on CDkeys I think (I don't check it all the time). It's a saving over buying directly with credit card I guess but If I'm buying this much at once I expect at least £10 off the rrp....
