I never stated my opinion was more important???

I stated their standards have slipped in recent years and you for some reason questioned my credentials in being able to state that opinion. Nothing more.

Next time some one posts something that you don't like or agree too try not to call them out on it. If you cant resit then perhaps you could go about it with more decorum and not basically call them a liar only to find they are actually considerably more educated and qualified to offer an option based on enthusiastically trying hundreds of products rather than just a handful and because their mate shares the same opinion. People will begin to devalue your opinion and frankly grow to dislike you if you don't otherwise.

£50 is a great price for a Mamba, if I were in the market for a new mouse at that price I would consider one, but I wasn't calling you out for you to justify your choice.

so my personal experience with Razer is second to none, I've used a Laschesis for 6 years and hammered the f*** out of it on Diablo, StarCraft, Total War, X-com, Battlefield, and countless other games.... it's been absolutely brilliant.

my friend at work bought a Mamba at full price at launch, he also absolutely hammers strategy games with it. I've always wanted one , as I've tried his, it's an incredible mouse but I refused to pay £140 for a mouse.....£70 though I class as an absolute bargain.

so tell me, given my experience with Razer is personal, and also backed by a friend who owns one & absolutely hammers it. please tell me why your opinion is more important!?!?

so fair enough, you may well work in the industry, but I think you're off base with your opinion on Razer mice, based on the above. I think £144 outrageous for a mouse, but £70 isnt, that is pretty cheap for a quality peripheral.

actually £50, as someone at work has given me £20 for my Lachesis

Go on, ask me for proof as you don't believe me Batman. Ill get the shovel ready.

You will find many people from all walks of life on HUKD looking for a bargain. I'm sure other members are addicted to finding a bargain irrelevant of their financial basis. I'm not embarrassed of that fact and I'm sure most members could comfortably afford many of HUKD deals but who's going to turn away a nice juicy discount?

Razer do have some OK products but they are not as good as they used to be, standards have slipped, and there are usually better alternatives but do feel free to carry on reading indirectly paid or sponsored hype reviews and going on your minimal expertise to make your own mind up.

hahaha yeah right, what an obvious response. yeah and I'm batman, I need the Razer for my Batcave. Even if was remotely true, which it isn't, it doesn't make you an expert either, it makes you someone who works in an it industry, idiot, you're embarrassing. if you are who you are, it's equally embarassing you're on HUKD... lmao 20m sales, MD, and hanging out on HUKD hahahaha yeah I saw Bill Gates on a Microsoft HUKD thread the other day, defending their OS. also Steve Jobs was iPhone 7 thread, speaking via a psychic, saying iPhone 7 is rubbish & not what he would have made. it's absolutely incredible the number of industry experts I've met on HUKD, I truly feel blessed

I think I will stick to my own experiences with Razer, and reviews of credible professional websites, all of which say the Mamba is the best wireless mouse available.

As the Managing Director of a very well respected UK system Integrator established over 6 years, sold nearly 20 million pounds of computer hardware and responsible for evaluating every single product we sell and sample including peripherals, I would say I am an "expert" and probably the most qualified person on this thread to give an accurate evaluation of Razer products.

Good job you said I was clearly an industry Engineer of expert otherwise you would have egg on your face :laughing:

My order got cancelled -_-

I tried to place 2 orders previously but changed my mind at paypal checkout page, which rendered the codes useless. Used a code from here and successfully placed my order and theyve just cancelled it without explaination. Probably thinking I was trying to order multiple even though my other orders weren't processed. Dropped them an email hoping they honour my order, if they don't no biggie I suppose I've saved 60 quid on a headset I don't really need.

The thing is, with the CES sale, it actually makes Razer products cheaper than the Logitech/Corsair equivalents. So I don't think it's a mistake going with them when it's on sale. Fact is, 'gaming gear' is ridiculously overpriced anyway. I pretty much only buy peripherals when they're on sale because of this. All the Razer stuff I've owned, it's been bought in past CES sales. My current Logitech keyboard (G810) I got that in a Logitech sale, and my Corsair mouse was bought in a sale too.
FRZ
19 Jan 17 1 #147
I was just contributing my experience, fully understand your decisions but thought it would be worth a mention because i notice Razer is the apparent go to for new pc gamers because its what all the big youtubers use.
Some might be unaware Logitech, corsair and steelseries provide better quality products for the same (more or less) price. I know how seeing what appears to be a good deal some people jump the gun and purchase before doing a little bit of research. Hopefully your product does last long and I'm not saying what you bought will break, just from experience (mine and others) some products do not withhold a full year of use which is something i would expect from a £50-£150 product.

I totally agree about RGB, I mostly got it because of the size (notice how all my keyboards have either been 60% or TKL) and their general rep, & that's all they had left - and of course the price. It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. I don't think £67 for the Chroma Tournament can be beaten as long as it doesn't disintegrate in 6 months like you seem to think it might!

I can believe Razor might make some shoddy gear (a lot of their stuff looks a bit tacky) but all the companies do and nothing will match the quality of my Pok3r keyboard ;-)

Some companies make are better at making some peripherals over others... like, I probably wouldn't go to Razor for a mouse when Logitech and other companies have a much higher reputation for them...

But I'll try this keyboard; it has top reviews across the board and I got it for a song... I really can't do much else... and I really can't listen to individuals' experiences with the odd bad Razor product they used, so, stay away from Razor forever. All companies suffer from a certain percentage of defective products, but again, individual anecdotal claims are not the deciding factor of who I choose to buy from.
FRZ
19 Jan 17 #145
My point was more about keyboards by different companies for similar prices being of better quality. I have a £40 Logitech keyboard (4 years old now) but its a basic one, i don't see the need for the colours and going mechanical, this keyboard is just as good and has no noisy key clicking, but a screen would be nice (like seen in the logitech G19) and a £30 corsair mouse (2 years old) I had a razer Viper which was retailing at like £60+ when i got it and that mouse didn't even last 6 months before the scroller became intermittent and the mouse clicks stopped registering or double clicked.

Razer products are nice but i just find the build quality doesn't match companies such as Logitech or Corsair. there are plenty of RGB peripherals for both companies and would suggest paying the price for those where build quality is usually 100x better and because they are not Razer they are typically cheaper (some of the time)
MadeInBeats
19 Jan 17 #144
Thanks.
I was looking at Corsair keyboards, but they aren't cheap... like for like features, they are the same price as Razor. I was looking at the K65 RGB, they are the same'ish price as the RGB tournament I got from Razor without the discount... so I saved big there. Also, I seen countless reports of keychatter & RMAs on these boards. So confidence not high.

I posted a deal recently for a Logitech tenkeyless RGB (www.hotukdeals.com/deals/logitech-g410-rgb-mechanical-keyboard-tom-clancy-s-division-game-co-uk-63-99-2599821), but the switches get mixed reviews. Steelseries again, prices getting up there with Razor and that's without RGB. Roccat are pretty budget. I'm happy with my Logitech mouse.

To be honest, I've never tried anything by Razor before but I'll try this keyboard out and worse comes to the worse, I can sell it on eBay and get about £100 for it used! The way I see it, if it's selling for that used, then it can't have such a bad rep! It cost me £67 BTW.

I just sold a Pok3r & I now have a CM QuickFire TK Brown to sell on, so I have a nice idea of how other keyboards compare.
Hokum
19 Jan 17 #143
Over about 6 months it got worse at being detected, sometimes I could unplug and plug it back in and it would work, but then it slowly just got worse till it stopped detecting keystroke, the screen went on the blink also. It would light up but nothing would happen, the board was about 4 years old so well out of warranty.

I have no idea how to google what you claimed... please post links.
FRZ
19 Jan 17 #140
You can google it yourself but Logitech, Corsair, Steelseries and Roccat, there are more but these are a few off the top of my head which all provide top quality products for sub £100 (without a sale)

Obviously they provide £100+ products but i just found through experience these top Razer on quality for price.

This is my opinion but its an opinion based on use of Razer, Corsair, Logitech, Roccat, Steelseries and Microsoft products. Personally i suggest Logitech for Keyboard and Corsair for mouse. But that's just me some people adore Razer but I've found the Razer mouse i owned lastest the shortest amount of time.

Voted cold.

- Most things are out of stock
- The products are massively overpriced.
- The website is awful in terms of layout, organization and details of the product, with no pictures of the different regional layouts for keyboards.
- Not giving codes anymore it seems
- Shipping is £18

Yep I'd agree - I currently only have an old pair of cheap turtle beach ones, which whilst sound fine..have an awful mic and the band is wearing through. Few of my friends have the Man'O'War and it's mic is excellent for the price point so should do the job for me

Razer are an interesting company in some ways - they make some great products like the MOW, mechanical keyboards, Deathadders...but also some very odd ones considering they are a gaming company - the Mamba mouse using a laser rather than optical sensor for example, or their awful "turret" keyboard/mousemat combo. If you pick out the good products from the bad though they are a great brand

Dude, you accused them of having no stock at all, I was making a point that they did. Stop being salty, making up ****, and then getting angry at people when they prove you wrong. To use your words, "the people's posts on this site never fail to amaze".

Sure, they probably had **** all stock, but, haven't you taken part in one of these Razer sales before? It's nothing new. I didn't get what I wanted last year because the site kept erroring when taking my payment, and then sold out super fast.

well good luck with that, all Raiju's were sold out at 9.01am 1 minute into the sell because I tried to buy one
I had one in my basket at 8.45 15 minutes before the sell started and processed the order dead on 9 am and pressed confirm order and it was already sold out at 9.01.
I think there is something fishy going, maybe razer does not want to sell there new Raiju at 50% off and thus all sells were showing sold out even 1 minute into the sell event. I think that's really harsh myself.

Pretty much all the mechanical keyboards are out of stock at this point. Seems to be a trend, I don't know if everyone jumps on them if there's a sale or if Razer artificially limit the stock... Everyone has different experiences with gear because some people are harsher on them (*glares at people who throw controllers against the wall*)
I had a razer copper head, was fantastic, then bought a lachesis.. fine, bought a lycosa keyboard from eBay and it broke after 2 weeks ...every time I've bought from amazon had no problems.
The new razer kraken v2 is much more comfy than the old one. Bigger ear cups.

Glad to see a lot of people benefitting from this.

As mentioned in all previous posts ... probably not worth it unless you are over the free shipping amount which is 55 pounds I think. But for headphones, expensive mice, keyboards ... it's a good deal. They even have a streaming Web cam I was tempted to buy. No way I'd pay 150 but at 75 ... maybe.

Heed this mans words. I've had 3 Deathadders, the first was an original that lasted 12 months before the LMB started to suffer with random double clicks or no click registering and the plastic on the left of the LMB started to split.

The second was a 3.5G which suffered an identical LMB fault after 3 months which Amazon thankfully refunded and the third (and my final ever Razer mouse) the Chroma which had once again the exact same LMB fault out of the box.

The comfort and ergonomics of the Deathadder is like an exquisite glove in my hands, sadly however while its uses highly regarded Omron switches there is a serious flaw in the design that allows dust and dirt to easily build up in the switch.

If you want a quality mouse, check out Mionix Naos 3200, mines nearly 4 years old and feels as good as the day I bought it.

Plus these sale events they do are an absolute con. They have like 3 of the "good" items available, then they sell out, but miraculously come back in stock after the sale has finished. Razer are a bunch of ne'er do wells, I loathe them as a company, stay away.

18 Jan 17 #55
Last year I got the razer naga chroma. Can't find anything I need, nor actually want. Anything that seems interesting isn't in stock.

Glad in a way, don't need a new headset for the PC (don't game on it anymore).

I would of loved a Naga pro but new member oh well, good deal for those who aren't new for sure.

Excellent, managed to get a Ouroboros for my girlfriend - at half price it seems reasonable, and it's one of the few good remaining mouse options for lefties. Have some heat.

Quality of the products they sell doesn't justify there price.

Totally didn't need a headset...bought a headset. £58 for the Kraken Pro v2 looks like a really great price even compared to historical pricing on the V1. Frustrating paying £18 for delivery though, code vanishes when you add another product.

18 Jan 17 #40
yea, its one code and one item per shipping address. I needed a naga mouse and I can put in work address but then I will need to pay shipping so not worth it.

but £18 p+p, not much of a discount wth 50% and really wanted this: http://www.razerzone.com/gb-en/store/razer-tartarus-classic

oh well :/ Think I shall wait.
Zafir
18 Jan 17 #24
Haha, sorry. :P

Yeah, the original price was pretty ridiculous. I mean it's not far off the price of the damn console.

If you're interested in looking at non-Razer products I know there's the Nacon Revolution Pro controller for the PS4 which is also meant to be pretty good with a lot of similar features, but not quite as pricey as the Razer one (I think it's £85ish). That was the controller I was considering if I didn't managed to get one of the Raiju's in the sale.
Cybirea
18 Jan 17 #23
Damn! That makes me sadder. ^_^
I'm desperate for an ergonomic controller, I loved the look of the Raiju but it was so expensive, half price would have been perfect. At least somebody got one. ^_^

Managed to grab a Razer Mamba, thanks!

18 Jan 17 1 #3
That's annoying, I'd have loved a half price Raiju but apart from not having an ID, they're out of stock...
Zafir to Cybirea
18 Jan 17 #19
They were in stock when it first started. I grabbed one for half price since I'm in need of a new controller myself.
I mean, it's 50% off, so it makes them the price that they should be, if a bit cheaper than that. :P
