WizzTours who offer packaged trips on WizzAir flights to many East and Central European destinations, are offering 50 Euros discount per booking, on all packaged trips (flight and hotels in one booking) booked by the 5th January.

You must use the promo code "HAPPYNEWYEAR".

There does not seem to be any minimum spend requirement and I am finding some bargain city break trips towards the end of February and March.

Based on two sharing a twin room (the discount alsso works for single travellers), here is a few examples:

Warsaw
Hotel Logos - 25-28 Feb 2016
Flights - Luton to Warsaw
58 Euros each (inc flights and hotel)

Prague
Hotel Lunik - 4-7 Mar 2016
Flights - Luton to Prague
76 Euros each (inc flights and hotel)

Krakow
Doubletree Hilton - 25-28 Feb 2016
Flights - Luton to Katowice
72 Euros each (inc flights and hotel)
(Wizzair don't fly to Krakow, and Katowice is about 1hrs drive by coach which can be booked to meet flight.)

****THESE ARE JUST SOME RANDOM HOTELS I PICKED OUT WHEN SEARCHING AND I AM IN NO WAY RECOMMENDING THEM***

Many other similar priced trips to other cities in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovenia, Macedonia, Croatia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, etc... The closer you get to summer the prices increase, but the 50 Euro discount still applies!

They fly mainly from Luton, but also have a few destinations from Glasgow, Aberdeen, Teesside, Doncaster, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol and Gatwick.

These prices are based on just taking hand baggage, but you can add a suitcase for additional cost. I did try to see if there was away to convert to GBP £, but was not able to find this option.

Also bear in mind, even though these flights and hotels are booked as a package, I don't think they are ATOL or ABTA protected like booking packages with UK tour operators. However WizzAir are Europe's third largest low cost carrier after Ryanair and easyJet, and been operating for over 10 years, I doubt there would be anything to worry about and booking on a credit card will also protect you financially.

***FEW TIPS***
The 50 Euro Discount is per booking and applies to single travellers and group bookings alike. I would suggest people make seperate bookings per room and get the discount for each booking!
(You might need to use a different email address)

From Luton especially, Wizzair operate multiply flights a day to many destinations, and the website chooses the cheapest flight of the day you have chosen to travel.
If you check out the flight section, you can choose different flights on that day (if available) and might be the same price, or only a few euros more, meaning you get longer at your chosen city or just a more convenient time to travel.

Oi relax mate and come down from your high horse. I understand the deal completely, I was referring to your tip of making separate bookings and getting the £50 discount twice. I see now that you can't do it just for a couple. It was you who mentioned getting it twice. I was just trying to maximise my savings.
No need for the aggressive attitude at all.

Do you have to book a hotel with flights? I just did an example search and was scrolling through hotels for at least 2 minutes before giving up trying to find a 'next' button. Also noticed you can only do return trips. Is this behaviour just on the mobile site or am I overlooking something?
gilesrdavies to JJMPSP
3 Jan 17 #4
I don't understand your question, this website is designed for the average tourist who wants a city break for example and requires flights to/from the destination, so of course you need to put in a return flight date!
I just looked on the mobile website (while it is a bit clunky, it is perfectly useable) and once you have entered the dates of travel and destination, you ask it to search, it then brings up your flight options at the top of the page and you then scroll down to the hotel you want. Next to any hotel you choose is a "Book Now" option.
As many of WizzAir's lead in price flights are only £15-20 each, it might be cheaper to enter a return flight and get the discount, but just choose not to travel! Otherwise I suggest you book flights and hotels seperately.

Wizztours have these deals every so often. They recently had a 75 Euro's off code when you joined them.

Great for a budget weekend or few days somewhere. I think I'll wait for the weather to warm up a little first and book one later in the year.

Amazing. €53 to Prague with b&b. That's £45 if paying with a zero-fee card
deeky
3 Jan 17 1 #8
Sorry if I'm being a bit stoopid here but you say

How can you do that without booking two rooms and thus making the £50 extra discount (2nd booking) pointless?
gilesrdavies
3 Jan 17 1 #9
So for example if 4 people are travelling and require 2 hotel rooms, make one booking for first 2 people in room one, then claim the 50 Euro Discount!
Then do exactly the same, making a second booking for the other two people in another hotel room, then can claim the discount again in a second booking.

As I mentioned before the discount code might only be able to be applied once to an email address, so might need to make second booking using another email address.

Could try some of the Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria, like Golden Sands or Sunny Beach.
But doubt they open until May time when the weather warms up and the tourists flock.
Split in Croatia is a nice beach and sunshine destination, but beaches are pebbly.

3 Jan 17 1 #13
What are you going on about and clearly don't get the deal, obviously...
You make a booking and use the promo-code and then save 50 Euro's off of the price!
The 50 Euro discount is per BOOKING and NOT per Person... So if a couple book a trip together you save 25 Euro's each!

So if I book for a week coming up at 92 euro for flight and hotel I don't. Need the hotel cos I have relatives in Budapest so I'll just not go to the hotel and cost me round about £80 return flight hot from me

Any recommendations for a city for a solo trip for 2-4 days? I recognise quite a few of them as the capitals of Eastern European countries but not sure which is the most touristy and has the most things to see/do.

This is frickin awesome. Is it book *before* the 5th, i.e. the 4th at the latest, or booking on the 5th is fine? Is there a link so the Ts&Cs of this? Cheers

I hate Luton Airport.

It's the airport equivalent of the rancid, rotten, decomposing testicles of a camel that died from testicular torsion with a side order of leprosy festering in the middle of the hottest summer in the Sahara after being savagely beaten with a baseball ball made from a nearby cactus. And infected with a million fly eggs.

Otherwise, this is a great deal!

It'll make up for having to pay £3 for a drop off. Whilst the Mad Max style environment is quite clever, I'm just not sure it's deliberate.

This. Also, WizzAir have reinvented what a cabin bag means. It is literally a tiny rucksack/handbag. Be aware when travelling - no roller cases.

Anyone booking in Euros for anything get a Aqua card, no transaction fees & at the Mastercard rate...they hand them out to anybody as it is a poor credit building card, I simply pay the balance off in full when due.

They gave me a £300 limit (strange as between MBNA & HSBC credit cards I have £8500 available) which is perfect as I dont spend that a month, let alone on transactions in abroad currencies.

Word of warning for anyone who is over 6 foot. Their new planes have the least amount of legroom of any airline I have ever travelled with. I'm 6'3" and found it impossible to sit in my seat. There was almost 3 inches less legroom. I normally have my knees pressed against the seat in front but it's possible on other airlines. I ended up sitting in the toilet for the 3 hour flight. I wouldn't use them again.

The way I do it is to arrange them by popularity from most popular. Then I look which of the most popular ones are cheap and get good ratings on tripadvisor. I don't take any notice of the official ratings. Then those are the ones I then go on to copy and paste into Google maps to check out their location.

We like Krakow, especially the old Jewish Quarter. I quickly found that The Secret Garden Hostel was cheap, well rated and in a great location for me. Further away from the Main Square than some would like, but ideal for us.

Tempted by Budapest but I hate being a complete noob anywhere, knowing where to go and what to see. On the verge of booking Krakow again, the only thing that's stopped me from not having already booked is that Wizzair don't fly from Manchester, I have to trek to Liverpool and don't know if I can be bothered.
gilesrdavies
4 Jan 17 #33
Bear in mind as well as the trek from Manchester to Liverpool to get the Wizzair flight, they don't fly to Krakow, but to Katowice about 1hr away.
The bus is about 21 Euros return to the airport.

With all due respect, you should not use airlines like Wizz, Ryanair or easyJet to get connecting flights!
They don't offer or guarantee connections, if you choose to use them, you do do at your own risk, any airline can suffer from delays.
