They can send it as a 1st class large letter for less than a quid, even recorded for less than £2. It's a disgrace to charge that much

SD card or not, Surely putting your phone under your pillow while you sleep is just a stupid idea.
Unlikely but phones do explode. Lithium is highly unstable when damaged (which is what the battery is made from).
Your phone still needs to breath a bit to keep it cool.

postage to Northern Ireland is an extra £13, for a set of micro SD cards with a total nett weight of 2.5 grams - you could order more than 10,000 sets and still pay a total of £13 postage - ridiculous customer service

I dont know whether i had a faulty memory card but this memory card from Sandisk made my phone extremely hot to the point i was too scared to put it under my pillow at night. It would drain my battery in a few hours and end up killing its battery life

It was a Galaxy Note 3 which was purchased new from Samsung, it never overheated, i use the phone as an alarm as I have a child sleeping in the same room so i dont like to wake him up 5 in morning! It's never been an issue since using the old Nokia brick phones, iPhones to the Samsungs until I purchased this memory card from Argos when my phone started to overheat to the extreme. When removed the phone was cool again.
Has anyone else experienced this ?

sounds like it may of been a fault with the reader? or a software glitch was causing a constantly read, invoking the processor to be constantly on full?
but in regards to what was said about keeping it under a pillow, to save you waking up with your face melting off as your phone explodes causing your bed to go up (least of your worries would be waking the child!).. hey it seriously could happen.
you have to be careful opening these. they're usually packaged in plastic that is very hard to access. in a fit of anger at the packaging i must have bent the micro card and damaged it (unknown to me at the time). Once in the phone, some of the features wouldn't work (win8.1 glance screen etc) and the phone ran very hot and drained a full battery within a couple of hours. i removed the sd card and the phone was back to normal.

Scan have always had ridiculous postal charges for even the smallest of items. These packs weigh nothing and the £4 shipping charge is extortionate so as always with Scan I will give it a miss.

I was about to confirm order but it's not beneficial for me to have multiple cards. Better off just getting a 64GB for less or a 128 for not much more. 64/128 deals come by frequently.

I've had 10 of these cards, they're all very fussy about what they can be written a read by. My DJI Phantom detects it as faulty every time, my phone won't read it, and my camera will read and write to it 9 out of 10 times. But not something I would trust.
Seemed like a bargain at the time

Yes for some reason a lot of companies seem to charge a lot more to Norn Iron, considering we're all part of the same UK postal service.
And it cost me the same amount to send an item to any where in Norn Iron as it does to send throughout the rest of the UK. :disappointed:

I used to have a Sandisk 32GB phone which I used with my Samsung Galaxy S3. It used to periodically become very hot, and the phone's battery would drain substantially. It was widely reported as an incompatibility e.g http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/03/18/galaxy_s3_sandisk_msd/
Eventually I think I performed a firmware update and the issue stopped occurring. That microSD has been handed-down to a family member and as far as I'm aware they are having no problems.
