Hi no yellow sticker , was priced on normal shelf. I don't like to put yellow sticker items on here as they are normally store specific in my opinion.

I use them to make courgette stew. Fry mushrooms, onions, courgettes (do them in water in the microwave for a couple of minutes first), then add a tin of tomatoes - then stir in some cheese. Nice with thick crusty bread.

I use them to make lasagne, they give a sweet tangy flavour to the sauce. Other tinned tomato brands can be quite acidic

No, the best tomatoes are Tarantella Organic, which cost about £1 per tin but produce a far superior unadulterated marinara sauce.

Not much hope of anyone else finding these unfortunately :disappointed:

Why are tinned tomatoes only 65% Tomatoes? Chopped Tomatoes 65%, Tomato Paste, Salt, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid

Reading all the posts about how tasty these are should give you your answer!

It's only the chopped tomatoes that are one third paste- the whole peeled plum tomatoes don't contain any paste.

It's not really 65% tomatoes, the rest is tomatoe juice -same tomatoes just in juice format( or tomatoe juice made from tomatoe paste)
It's all 100% tomatoes except a tiny bit of salt.
Also the BEST tomatoes, are Aldi's value range 25p WHOLE plum tomatoes - I go through A LOT of canned tomatoes as I make a lot of dishes with them so have tasted more or less every brand, but the aldi value range for 25p are the best tasting and are always very ripe, not green as for other brands, even the more expensive aldi tomatoes aren't as good as the cheapest 25p value ones

Cracking price. definitely ones to stock up at that price. Also better to buy the whole tomatoes and chop then up in the pan as they use the same but better quality tomatoes whereas as the damaged, split etc get put in for chopped toms

These are the best tomatoes !!! I have just stocked up at £2.00 (50p a tin) When I make Ragu (like this afternoon) I only ever use these. I agree Lidl own brand ones are cracking for the money they go well when using in a stew or curry.

Waitrose had these on offer last week at £1.50. That's the cheapest I've seen them.

These are usually on offer at £2, so £1 is very cheap. As mentioned, these are very sweet and tasty tomatoes and the nicest brand I have eaten. Much nicer than supermarket brand tomatoes, even Napolina.

Lucky you. I've never seen this at almost £1, although I've never seen this as high as £4 either.

What about the chopped tomatoes? Is it £ 1.07 as well or full price?

These are the best tinned tomatoes i've used. I saw them on offer today at £2 at Tesco Extra. Did it have a yellow sticker on it?
