2. At checkout if you use click and collect and fastrack where you add code HOME25 which is meant to give 25% off £25 spend but is actually giving a much bigger discount as it's discounting on the original price.

23 Jan 17#150
Odd, scenario worked out for me,
Ordered 4 X pairs of bath sheets, Subtotal £51.96
Total at checkout after using HOME25 is £17.01
Reciept from paypal saying that an order for £17.01 has been placed by Argos against my account and this is not a charge but my account will be charged when merchant processes my payment.
Email received from Argos saying Fastrack order is ready for collection with an order number, and collection code.
Argos subtotal £51.96
SPECIAL OFFER SAVINGS £34.95
Total £4.25
Has anyone eles had any problems with the email revieved from argos.
Will be checking my bank in the morning to make sure the correct amount comes out,
So I received another email from the Argos system and it appears that because I have ordered 4 of the same item, one is ready for collection now, one at 16:00 today and two will be ready on Friday.
Total charge on that email is £17.00

Feel like I should buy something as it's so cheap but tbh I don't really need anything.
Just a little note, some bits can be bought cheaper else where such as the the little corner shower cady I picked up in b&m for £3. And the over door towel hanger can be bought for around £5 in b&m and wilkinsons.
It's of course a fantastic deal. I'm so tempted for the chrome bathroom shelves as I need to replace mine but I'm thinking to go wooden as they do tend to rust after a while

hot from me... but I'm just bit confused.... 8 bath towels for £17 something how about if you go to primark you get it for £2 each. still saves you £1..... and compulsory you have to buy 8 or 10 to get discount. yes you may say quality is different but not that much different compare to M&S or other high end shops..... it's just a opinion..... don't worry

23 Jan 17#162
Do Primark have bath sheets for £2 each???
fr3dy77_sp33d
23 Jan 172#163
depends on what you pick & what you need really, but I always believe argos stuff are junk anyway (IMO, argos is good for new starter family which don't know where to buy stuff or limited budget). bought bed, mattress, drawers, etc and all bad quality. but they do sometimes sell bad quality stuff in the right price and this would be one of them.
if you pick things like step stool, the normal price is £5 so you buy with normal price, but pillow for £5..., I think that's reasonable deal. I do lower my expectation anyway on it (much lower )

Yep, have to be honest, apart from a few things, this is all Argos own brand stuff and in most cases, not worth the made up RRP or "previous price" they charged. It's a typical selling trick of companies in this same group to then do multi buy offers / voucher codes / reductions to bring the prices down to nearer what they should be in the first place whilst making the consumer think they've got a bargain.
You can buy equvalent quality, if not better, towels for the same price, every day of the week from Ikea for example.
That said, I am tempted by the pillows...!

Nice one, OP. Heat added.
By the way, if anyone is considering getting one of the shower heads as part of this deal - WAIT! You might be able to get one for free from your water supplier, as part of its 'water-saving scheme', so you could save the bargain for a different item instead. For example, Thames Water and Affinity Water both operate such schemes (just order online, no 'consultation' by a rep needed). I haven't checked if other suppliers do but Google will be your friend.

Thames Water: https://www.thameswater.co.uk/save-water/water-saving-freebies

Sadly, I've had multiple orders over the years cancelled by Argos, for various reasons if theres a "glitch" or error on their part, obviously after order confirmation and payment but before either despatch or collection. Sometimes notification by email, sometimes by phone or text. I've had a "goodwill" gesture after one time of £10 gift voucher but other times just a basic tough luck type message. Even after complaining they say theres nothing they can do or offer in compensation. I've found the quicker you get to the front of the glitch queue, the better chance you have of it slipping through, hence the Wacky Races comment.
petermcgregor14
23 Jan 171#223
That's the deal working fine. 8 items for £40 whereas it would be 8 items for 60 using the 2 for 15 deal on its own.
Alternatively you could put only 4 items in and get them for around £20 just to be clear.

your adding double what you should be, 1 item is a pack of 2 towels for £12.99 or 2 for £15 = 4 towels, so add 4 items total at £12.99 = 8 towels cost 2 for £15 x 2 = £30 the home25 code brings it down to £17.01

I agree, as I bought what I think is the same or similar mattress protector at Argos last year for around £6 when it was half price. Also bought an Egyptian Cotton bath sheet in Tesco recently for £4.50. Might be tempted if there was a bit more choice, such as duvets.

I ordered 8 items only one was supposed to be out of stock for four days which I was thankful of as couldn't be arsed carrying a 45l bin about town lol...Turned up at store to find only ONE thing was actually reserved and the rest not here to Saturday or later!! Bit of a pain. Would have chosen another store if had told me in advance. Hopefully not a sign of cancellation by delaying things a few days! Staff in store also confused said items must be getting sent up from a store far away. Not sure whether to order from another store and cancel as I've collected one item and will end up paying full price for it or the £8.50 it got marked as.

23 Jan 171#309
But the 4 pillows for £15 is NOT WHAT YOUR PAYING, you actually get a further 25% off the £9.99 per pair which is circa £2.50.
So £7.50 (2 for 15) actually equates to £5 for a pair of pillows, which is a great price!
BUT you must use the HOME25 promo code at checkout or mention the code at the till in store when you collect your order. To use HOME25, the original order value must exceed £50 though! Just saying

When Argos set up same day home delivery to compete with Amazon I believe 'hubs' were created, stock - aswell as home delivery that costs you - can be held regionally and delivered to store for 4pm or 8am opening. Some items though are home delivery or store delivery only, other things that say available to collect in 2/3/4 days etc come from major hubs and are filtered through regional hubs or bulk stock levels per item direct to stores from major hubs.
Its quite a integrate but intelligent system, well from the outside lol probably chaos working inside Argos, esp since the Sainsbury buy out which no doubt Sainsburys will have complicated, or intend too, buy outs and thus changes are never easy internally!

Thanks for the info I guess it's never straight forward when it comes to distribution. I think what is happening is the stock isn't being reserved until after they've issued payment request and it's confirmed as the items were all in stock bar one and my confirmation email took a while.
I'm guessing only when my email was received they pushed the reserve and it all failed as some other people had been looking around in that time and happened to like black stuff as well lol. They then just changed my order into 8 separate codes and only one was valid today. I hadn't checked email properly before went to store so was just a bit frustrating when I started reading the codes and noticing all the collection dates were extended five days to a week when I was only supposed to be dealing with a four day wait for one thing!
Bunch of junk anyway don't mind if they cancel.

I'm not saying that it isn't a good deal - just to be careful, because "ZOMGWOWBBQ - 40% off!" might not be such a great deal in the scheme of things. Also, I imagine that HOME25 could potentially work on the set of 4, as well - no idea, didn't try.

er.. no. There isn't a shop anywhere where I would find 4 bath sheets, 1 set of 6 Richardson Sheffield made knives and 2 Slumberdown pillows all for £18. I pretty much at least got 4 bath sheets for free.

If you're on a mobile device, you need to enable desktop browsing and click the link at the bottom of the site "Go to full website" or something similarly named. On both desktop or mobile, the code box is then part of the checkout process. I cant remember if you need to login/ sign-up before the box appears but its right at the top of one of the pages before you enter your payment details.

picked up my stuff ok charged 20 for 4 items, 2 towels a duvet set for a double and a new bathroom shower curtain.
I collected the 8 bath sheets(for £17) today....very poor quality and size wise they are definitely more like bath towels not sheets. They will be going back tomorrow as I will say £17 is a bit expensive for them let alone the alleged RRP

Still working at 19.30.
Perhaps Argos aren't that bothered about stopping this running.
4 items under the legitimate offer (2 for £15) is £30 and the legitimate 25% off (Home25) code makes it £22.50.
My total under the "glitch" wasn't massively different from £22.50 so Argos *might* be happy about running this as a promotional activity. They could certainly have pulled the code by now as it has been running days.
And some of the prices are inflated - I got the Curver laundy basket (£11.99 full price or £7.50 on offer) for £4.99 elsewhere.

Argos must be aware of this (it's even in the national papers) but there has been no move to restrict the offer so I have a feeling they are quite happy for people to buy the stuff in the offer at the reduced prices

i am not returning anything, but if i was to return something then i will just exchange for something from the 2 for £15 offer. if u don't exchange then i guess they will just take the item back with no money back. So no point to bringing something back without exchange.

Try taking 2 items on the 2 for £15 deal back saying lost receipt - there prob give you a £15 gift card......
amauk
24 Jan 17#359
if u buy for example: 4 Kingsley Hygro Bath Sheet - Coral532/9078 >>£12.99 with 2for£15 = £30.00 (7.50 each) >> u save £21.96
with the code HOME25 u save £12.99
total price for 4 items: £17.01
so if u bring back one item in this example then u will not get any money back
coz the total for 3 items will be : £18.25 (£15.00 + £12.99 - HOME25 £9.74)
jimmybo
24 Jan 17#360
This is HUKD!!
If you return one item from your promo order of 2/4 products then:
Argos will probably refund the original price of the item in cash - not in Argos "coins"
But that's only a guess!
So for the benefit of all HUKD members:
Has anyone returned an item from their promo order yet ?
It would be interesting to know how Argos calculate the promo refund amount!

I placed an order which has bath towels (just a pair for £9.99) in it n it was delivered later on n my payment receipt says I paid £5.01 for it...if it helps anyone!
And yes they will be able to refund I'm sure...this deal is not a glitch and is a valid deal! That's why they aren't removing it....they are getting rid of the old stock!

HOME25 code not working for me. Lucky gits those who managed to make the most of this...
It says Save 25% when you spend £25 or more on homewares on top of other offers.
If it was a glitch they would not have added the "on top of other offers" bit.
jimmybo
25 Jan 17#375
That's good news
You can therefore return 3 items from a 4 item order and still keep the remaining item for £5
Straycat1967
25 Jan 171#376
IT WAS A GLITCH!
prior to yesterday you would get 25% off the original price of an item as part of the 2 for £15 eg. each item normal price £10.98 less 25%. But now you will only get 25% off the 2 for £15 (£7.50 less 25% each).
I know this because silly me ordered online BUT PAID IN STORE and the total amount was higher than that quoted if I had paid for collection online.
So there was a glitch, but only if you'd PAID prior to collection or delivery, it did not work by paying on collection in store though.

I returned 2 sets towels today as wasn't impressed with quality. I said I'd "mislaid" receipt & was given a gift card for £15.
Therefore the pillows & bathroom scales only cost me £4!
Just an option if your going to shop in Argos again.....

Finally collected all my delayed items and each is very good quality for under a fiver except the shower head that is a joke it creates no pressure at all if your water supply isn't the best!! The throws are super soft and larger than expected as is the black sparkle bath mat. Wish I ordered more items now. Hoping they can just switch over the shower head for another item in 2 for £15 as a bit doubtful about people claiming to get full refunds etc! Thanks for posting! Happy with everything except the Poundland style shower head!!

I paid PayPal fast track to collect at my local store, had confirmation, never had anything to say my collection was ready, have been to store 3 times and they can't trace my order, tonight I've got an email from PayPal (still nothing from Argos themselves) saying Argos have refunded £4.25 of my £18.26 but with no reason! Did you get an initial email giving different FT numbers?
If the items had different collection dates, the refunds will be made separately on the different days when the collection windows expire.
I'd let the process work itself through as collection windows can be open for 12 days after the initial order day.
Opening post
1. Select 4 home items from the 2 for £15 Home offer. Can select more than 4 but will need to be in multiples of 2 to get the best discount.
http://www.argos.co.uk/search/shop-2-for-15-on-homewares/
2. At checkout if you use click and collect and fastrack where you add code
HOME25 which is meant to give 25% off £25 spend but is actually giving a much bigger discount as it's discounting on the original price.
Lowest price for 4 home items is £17.01 but varies depending on the items you choose.

Email received from Argos saying Fastrack order is ready for collection with an order number, and collection code.

Total charge on that email is £17.00
Why say with words what you can say with a totally unrelated or entirely generic, looped visual.
Genius.
And 3 months buy now pay later on my Argos card
Just a little note, some bits can be bought cheaper else where such as the the little corner shower cady I picked up in b&m for £3. And the over door towel hanger can be bought for around £5 in b&m and wilkinsons.
It's of course a fantastic deal. I'm so tempted for the chrome bathroom shelves as I need to replace mine but I'm thinking to go wooden as they do tend to rust after a while
and to make £50 some nutella items and curtains.
if you pick things like step stool, the normal price is £5 so you buy with normal price, but pillow for £5..., I think that's reasonable deal. I do lower my expectation anyway on it (much lower )

Trying to gauge quality but abs no reviews on the Argos website.
All I can see is that they are 480gsm. Not expecting them to be amazing but curious how good/bad they can be.
So hot right now.
I think it is supposed to be part of the deal. But.... A glitch? It flummoxed me for a bit too.
If I were to return 1 of my 4 items, how would Argos work it out?
So £7.50 (2 for 15) actually equates to £5 for a pair of pillows, which is a great price!
BUT you must use the HOME25 promo code at checkout or mention the code at the till in store when you collect your order. To use HOME25, the original order value must exceed £50 though! Just saying

yes you are quite right, but just to mention you only need to spend £25 for the HOME25 to work!
Its quite a integrate but intelligent system, well from the outside lol probably chaos working inside Argos, esp since the Sainsbury buy out which no doubt Sainsburys will have complicated, or intend too, buy outs and thus changes are never easy internally!
I also bought Kingsley Hygro Bath Sheet - Aqua 527/7302 , pretty color & soft.
Don't buy the colourmatch they are not worth it. :man:
I'm guessing only when my email was received they pushed the reserve and it all failed as some other people had been looking around in that time and happened to like black stuff as well lol. They then just changed my order into 8 separate codes and only one was valid today. I hadn't checked email properly before went to store so was just a bit frustrating when I started reading the codes and noticing all the collection dates were extended five days to a week when I was only supposed to be dealing with a four day wait for one thing!
Bunch of junk anyway don't mind if they cancel.

Deal as follows:
1. Select 4 home items from the 2 for £15 Home offer. Can select more than 4 but will need to be in multiples of 2 to get the best discount.http://www.argos.co.uk/search/shop-2-for-15-on-homewares/
2. At checkout if you use click and collect and fast track where you add code HOME25 which is meant to give 25% off £25 spend but is actually giving a much bigger discount as it's discounting on the original price.
Lowest price for 4 home items is £17.01 but varies depending on the items you choose.
Example Home shop for a total of £18.26
- ColourMatch Pair of Bath Sheets Navy
- ColourMatch Pair of Bath Sheets Black
- HOME Wire 4 Tier Storage Unit
- Slumberdown Big Hug Pair of Pillows

Order total
Got a promotional code?
Your discount has been applied

Promotional discount: £9.99

Balance due: £20.01
Perhaps Argos aren't that bothered about stopping this running.
4 items under the legitimate offer (2 for £15) is £30 and the legitimate 25% off (Home25) code makes it £22.50.
My total under the "glitch" wasn't massively different from £22.50 so Argos *might* be happy about running this as a promotional activity. They could certainly have pulled the code by now as it has been running days.
And some of the prices are inflated - I got the Curver laundy basket (£11.99 full price or £7.50 on offer) for £4.99 elsewhere.
6 pillows. All different for £19
It would be interesting to know how Argos calculate the promo refund amount!
don't understand why you saying they will not take item back and refund you in monies - whatever price you paid
Has anyone returned an item from their promo order yet ?
It would be interesting to know how Argos calculate the promo refund amount!
:smirk:
with the code HOME25 u save £12.99
total price for 4 items: £17.01
so if u bring back one item in this example then u will not get any money back
coz the total for 3 items will be : £18.25 (£15.00 + £12.99 - HOME25 £9.74)
If you return one item from your promo order of 2/4 products then:
Argos will probably refund the original price of the item in cash - not in Argos "coins"
But that's only a guess!
So for the benefit of all HUKD members:
Has anyone returned an item from their promo order yet ?
It would be interesting to know how Argos calculate the promo refund amount!
And yes they will be able to refund I'm sure...this deal is not a glitch and is a valid deal! That's why they aren't removing it....they are getting rid of the old stock!
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/ArgosPromo3/includeName/home-furnishings-savings.htm?tag=ar:search:werec:pvhome
It says Save 25% when you spend £25 or more on homewares on top of other offers.
If it was a glitch they would not have added the "on top of other offers" bit.
You can therefore return 3 items from a 4 item order and still keep the remaining item for £5
prior to yesterday you would get 25% off the original price of an item as part of the 2 for £15 eg. each item normal price £10.98 less 25%.
Therefore the pillows & bathroom scales only cost me £4!
Just an option if your going to shop in Argos again.....
Items refunded
You have been refunded for the following items:
Subtotal
Addis 4m Over Door Airer.
Qty 1
£4.25"
Ggrrrrrrr
If the items had different collection dates, the refunds will be made separately on the different days when the collection windows expire.
I'd let the process work itself through as collection windows can be open for 12 days after the initial order day.
Just from my own experience :disappointed:
