I fully appreciate it's not an S model, but when you factor in the price of the Elite Controller. It's a good price for a 1TB solid state hybrid driven Xbox One.

Got the £179 deal last year. Sold the console for £180 and kept the controller.
Heat. I got one of these in the 179 deal last year and I am really happy with it. Xbox elite controller and a faster loading hdd. I changed my standard 1tb console for it and I'm glad I did.

Does anyone know if the controller comes in a separate box inside as I would probably sell it on?

The controller comes in the same box and does not have its own retails box but has a hard pouch to store the controller and it's components

Got the Elite version a while back when Tesco were doing them for £199, and have been very happy with it.
So as others have said...if it comes back in stock and you are still wondering, then the controller comes in this case, which I assume is the same as if you buy it separately...
Awesome deal, the elite controller is worth every penny and even though the difference is apparently minor (a few seconds faster load times here and there) that ssd hybrid drive is just too cool.
Add that game and you'd be stupid not to buy it.

Cant decide on this... for £199.99
Or The Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Bundle for £199.99
Or an Xbox One S 500gb with Minecraft for £195.95
Opinions?

Or there's the 500GB Rare Replay and Ori bundle for £149 from Game (not the S obviously)
Edit: That one's sold out now.

I would say if someone is buying a new one, they should go for the new S model. The improvements are more than worth it and it would be stupid to buy the old one for nearly the same price.
However, if someone wants an Elite controller, then it makes sense to buy that console. But if plans on selling, its again not worth it as the prices have fallen for the old model.

top advice - the elite controller for a newbie is merely kudos and wont suit everyone. Go for the S

I don't have 4K and aren't planning on upgrading to it in the forseeable future, so for me the S isn't worth the extra £50 compared to the £149 bundle with the original console I just bought .

Also bought the £149.99 bundle. Can return to GAME if I choose a different option.
The halo bundle seems worth the extra £50 for the extra 500gb of storage and better game bundle + limited edition console.
But also the S for an extra £50 is newer, easier to sell on if decide too, also comes with an ok game. But only 500gb. And if kept for a long time the upgrades are worth it I guess. Why get an older console is the question.
Tough decisions for a cheapskate like me trying to cop a good deal!

if u have good upscaling tv one does not need xbox one s consoles n also heard about their fan noise etc , my older xbox one is so solid n runs whisper quiet. old models r really sturdy n solid , get them while you can , stocks r running low everywhere.

if you are contemplating on getting one of these I wouldn't wait I really recommended the Xbox , I have a ps4 and have been a PS fan for years and didn't get into Xbox much not sure why however, Had my psn account hacked last year and was a terrible experience decided to go Xbox after all of the poor customer service of Sony and the length of time they handled the situation and getting hold of Microsoft is much easier and the customer services are superior compared to that of Sony's at least that is what I have experienced thus far.

I am sorry but i cant see the £149 price for Xbox One in this thread. If you get it for that price, its justified but at £199, it is not justified to go for the old model.

Yes definitely, I wouldn't pay £199 for the old model, the £149 deal at GAME has sold out online but similar ones are cropping up quite often.

I bought 4k Sony hdr TV and sold my old Xbox one console 4 months ago and upgrade to Xbox one S. It is so different pictures between them. Also same time sold ps4 and upgrade to ps4 pro. If you have budget to upgrade your game console you should definitely upgrade your TV as well. If you have full HD TV don't upgrade your console stick your old Xbox one or ps4

Go for the one which has the games you like.
After that whichever one has the controller you prefer.
The PS4 is more powerful and it runs many games at a higher resolution or more stable framerate.
The One S does have a 4K BluRay drive if that's important to you.

The Xbox One is backward compatible with many 360 titles if you bought them digital or have hard copies.
