Thanks very much for sharing; I was kicking myself for getting home from the pub too late last night and missing the £10 discount from Amazon yesterday, but this has more than made up for it! :-)

Make sure it's not only dispatched but sold through Amazon and not a third party, I had that problem a few times.

Is this deal dead now!? I've got two items dispatched by Amazon in my basket totalling £80. I've used points to cover £10 and then applied the code above but says my "code doesn't qualify for this purchase" - I'm using an Amex Gold card which is registered to my Amazon account for over 6 months now.
Code BIGTHANKS has also expired :disappointed:
Any thoughts?

There are card members that still have credit cards as well as charge cards that are enrolled in the American Express Membership Rewards programme, such as the Gold Credit Card or the Green Credit Card which are no longer issued but still exist.

I have an express rewards card... ...which amex told me did not qualify as, although the links from the amazon sign up page took me directly to my amex membership reward page, detailing my number of points and also a link back to amazon from a banner on the site saying I was eligible, my membership points were 'express membership points', which aren't the same and so are not eligible!
...amex...WTF!!!
...why not put something like 'this offer is only eligible for cards with a monthly fee', not so ****ing hard is it?!

Damn, my amex card doesn't work with the offer :disappointed:
I don't get how people don't seem to understand what cards they have....this will only work on cards where you collect Membership Reward points, ie pretty much only Green, Gold, Platinum CHARGE cards. Anything that is a credit card or BA/Nectar etc etc will not work.

, I know my card I have points but it won't work, Amex says it should but it doesn't. kinda a win though lost 1.5 hours of my life but they just credited my account instead, but I regret trying after all the hold music I listened to :/
It didn't help me but Amex said the name, address and phone number have to match exactly and amazon said the card has to be on your account as a payment option for 6 hours first... though god knows if any of this is true

That's a pretty good summing up - if it isn't a chargecard, it's not in the scheme. Amex themselves don't seem to fully understand that, though, and they're still telling people with credit cards (including the cashback ones) that they can register. They can't.

I have been trying to register for a few weeks and get different errors, due to the double stack I wanted to fix it today, amex say its amazons fault and amazon with there new stunning customer service just made up some stories and said it will work in an hour until I called them on it and they left me on hold while finding a manager for ever.
BUT how do I tell if my card should work? (the advert is on my rewards page, mine is an express rewards card)

I am in exactly the same boat, been passed from both companies and back again. Its clear to me its an Amazon fault as error message is on its site...sadly the message given actually it makes no sense as does not give you an option to put in the info they request!!

The same as you, I've tried 4 times to register my Amex card to no avail. They keep on saying that it's a problem at their end and I should be able to register in a few hours time.

I'm not sure, we have the gold rewards card so we get points instead of cashback. On my Amazon account it gives us an option to use reward points to pay for Amazon purchases.

no only rewards card and last time I checked you had to pay for these.

Tried on my platinum charge card. I put in £1 (222 points) but it only deducts £1 and says the code cannot be applied to purchase. This is just a regular juicer sold direct by amazon.
Maybe because Amex had a similar offer a couple months back and I used that one already? Any ideas?

Could be, there was one posted about 6 weeks ago someone said in a comment above, that I didn't see when I posted this one. Also make sure on the checkout page it says sold by Amazon because I thought a few things I had added were but ended up no being actually fulfilled by them.
